Part one of the hit Netflix series's sophomore season premiered on Wednesday, August 6th, 2025. Season 2 has an impressive 86% Rotten Tomatoes rating, and fans are glad that the Goth teenager and her quirky family are back. After the action-packed and twist-filled first season, which balanced horror with humor, viewers have been curious about new cast members, along with the status of Tyler Galpin (Hunter Doohan) and this season's villain The Kansas City Scalper. However, after diving into the first four episodes, fans have some strong opinions about one character.

Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) is one of the kindest characters on the popular Netflix series, but viewers aren't on board with her second season plotline. Enid has been dating Nevermore Academy classmate Ajax (Georgie Farmer), but now she's interested in Bruno (Noah B. Taylor), one of the new Wednesday season 2 characters. After watching episodes 1 through 4, fans took to Reddit to share their disappointment in Enid's character arc.

Redditor @-brownie_89 wrote:

"I don’t know if I’m the only one who thinks it was totally unnecessary, I really love the character but I just didn’t like this at all."

Redditor @AccurateSession1234 replied:

"Enid has been ticking me off this season so far. The cheating the ditching Wednesday for the pack but then getting jealous of Agnes."

Others shared that Enid is a loyal character, so it doesn't make sense that she would act this way. Since the Wednesday season 2 trailer revealed that Wednesday has a creepy and unsettling vision of Enid's death, fans expected the Goth teenager to try to save her friend and classmate's life. That's still the main storyline of the second season, and it's still an engaging, scary, and well-crafted plotline. However, fans also assumed that these two characters would be closer than ever before. Unfortunately, it looks like they're dealing with some growing pains, and their friendship might not be perfect.

Bruno (Noah B. Taylor) and Enid Sinclair (Emma Myers) in Wednesday

Emma Myers shared some insight into Enid's choices in an interview with Netflix.tudum.com. She said that Enid is becoming more comfortable with being a werewolf and "Bruno represents everything she's ever wanted." She added:

“Enid’s always wanted to be popular, and Bruno is popular, so she feels like she’s fitting in. Bruno’s really, really kind to her. She feels like she’s finally being seen, and she’s finally with her people."

Previously, Myers talked about Enid's character growth in Wednesday season 2 and how she becomes more comfortable with who she is. While beloved characters need to grow and change (or a TV show becomes boring), it's also tough to see them become completely different. Hopefully, when the show returns for part two, fans will enjoy Enid's storyline more. Fans were drawn to Enid's kindness and compassion in season 1, and while she's still thoughtful and likable, some viewers aren't completely sold on the Bruno/Enid/Ajax love triangle.

Despite some changes to Enid's character, there's a lot to enjoy about the new season. Wednesday's quirky family members are front and center, and it's nice to see more scenes with the sarcastic teenager and her wise mother, Morticia (Catherine Zeta-Jones). Steve Buscemi also joined the cast as new principal Barry Dort, and he's a compelling addition to Nevermore Academy. Lady Gaga is also another notable new cast member, and she guest stars as Rosaline Rotwood, a teacher.

Fans can look forward to Wednesday season 2 part two on Wednesday, September 3rd, 2025. Episodes 5 through 8 will be available on the streaming service all at once.
