Wednesday star Emma Myers commented on the popular 'Wenclair' ship, which sees Myer's Enid paired with Wednesday Addams (Jenna Ortega). Though Myers is uncertain what the future holds, she stated that she hopes Wednesday can get a peaceful season of single life before diving into anything new.

Wednesday has been a smash hit for Netflix. Millions tuned into the series, with Wednesday outpacing Stranger Things' viewing record. With that success came a dedicated fandom that enjoys "shipping" characters together, a practice which refers to fans embracing the relationship between two characters. Though Wednesday has two love interests in the series, the most popular ship in the fandom involves Enid and Wednesday.

In a new interview with Variety, Myers revealed she's aware of the ship thanks to her sisters keeping her up-to-date on the fandom. "Anything is possible in the show. We haven’t really spoken about direction at all, so I don’t really know what the game plan is for anything," Myers replied when asked if a romantic relationship between Enid and Wednesday was in the cards. "As far as love interests go for Wednesday, I feel like at least for a second season, she needs to take her season of singleness. She just had a whole fiasco with her men, she’s got to lay it off for a little bit. I would be deterred from dating anybody if I had gone through that."

Myers also revealed that she was excited for Wednesday season 2, but had felt it was inevitable. “They emailed me, and I was like, ‘Oh, cool,’” Myers said. “I wasn’t allowed to tell anybody yet, so I couldn’t have said anything to anybody who was in the van with me. But I mean, I felt it coming. I feel like all of us felt it coming.”

Myers' reasoning for Wednesday needing to stay single holds up. In the Wednesday season 1 finale, Wednesday was betrayed by Tyler (Hunter Doohan), whom she sided with over Xavier (Percy Hynes White). Tyler turned out to be the Hyde and manipulated Wednesday. Considering he was her first romantic interest, the resulting trauma may lead Wednesday to embrace the single life.

As for Enid, her inability to transform into a werewolf appeared to be a metaphor for conversion therapy. Her mother tried to push Enid to go to special summer camps so she could be "fixed," but Enid steadfastly refused, wanting to be whoever she was. While she's with Ajax (Georgie Farmer), the two may not stay together forever.

Wednesday season 1 is streaming on Netflix.
