To unlock challenges to acquire a third Insured Weapon Slot in Call of Duty's DMZ, players will have to unlock the fourth and final faction available free to players, the Phalanx faction. Once Phalanx is unlocked, not only will players be able to access a brand-new line of missions when deploying to the DMZ, but players can begin making progress toward the challenges for several passive equipment upgrades.
To unlock the Phalanx faction, players will have to first complete the Icebreaker mission, available once Black Mous reputation reaches level 6. Players will have to l ocate a dead drop on the map Vondel, acquire the tracker and letter of introduction inside, and deliver them across the map while fighting off hordes of AI and enemy operators.
Warzone 2 DMZ: How to Complete the Dealmaker Mission
A bunch of new features were added to Warzone 2's DMZ mode, including a tutorial-style mission that might be a little difficult to finish.
Icebreaker Mission Tasks
The Icebreaker mission has three objectives that must be completed in a single deployment. The three objectives players will have to complete are:
- Pick up the letter of introduction and tracker from the Vondel Zoo dead drop
- Deliver the letter of introduction to the Phalanx dead drop at the university.
- Deliver the tracking device to the same Phalanx dead drop.
Vondel Zoo Dead Drop
Activate the mission, gear up, and drop into Vondel. Players will want to make their way towards the Zoo in the Southwest quadrant of the map. The tracker and letter of introduction will be found in the zoo dead drop located in the Southwest corner of the Zoo just north of the building with the Veterinarian's Office. Look for the dumpster near the outer gate, players will notice a white highlight outlining the dumpster when they approach the correct one. Grab the two items inside, drop any unnecessary cash, weapons, or supplies, and begin the journey to the university at the top of the map. Players can opt to grab a vehicle to expedite the voyage, although vehicle noise draws lots of attention from bots and players alike, increasing the risk of death before completing the delivery.
University Dead Drop
At the university, players will again want to keep their eye out for a dumpster that outlines white when near. The university dead drop is located to the East of the university's main buildin g, outside against the south wall of the north most building on the block between City Hall and the university just south of the gas station. Once players locate the correct dumpster, interact with the dead drop and deposit the letter of introduction and the tracking device to complete the Icebreaker mission.
With the Icebreaker mission complete, players can now exfil to find the Phalax faction and mission line available in the DMZ menus, along with challenges now unlocked for upgrades including higher level cooldown reduction for first and second Insured Weapon Slots as well as the unlock challenges for the third INsured Weapon Slot, allowing players to have a third stored custom weapon available for deployment.
