This game is already set to be underrated as it hasn't generated the buzz it should. Fans should be excited about Space Marines 2, based on the pre-release material we have seen so far, particularly the official gameplay overview trailer from the game's developers, Focus Entertainment. This game seems to be destined to be a favorite for players looking to run through a comprehensive campaign with their friends, while also scratching that competitive itch with tons of different online modes as well as incentives through tons of loot and customization options.

One of the most unfortunate trends in modern gaming is the lack of proper co-op games that players can play through for a substantial time with their friends. The Warhammer Vermintide series and A Way Out are recent examples of how entertaining and good these games can be. Space Marines 2 promises a variety of different modes where players can load up the game with their friends and hack-and-slash their way through swarms of enemies.

Not only can the single-player/campaign mode be played with friends in its entirety, but players also have access to multiple 6v6 game modes they can enjoy with their friends. Based on the gameplay reveals released so far, Space Marines 2 promises to be a solid co-op game.

While tons of recent games have fallen short in this regard, Space Marines 2 has demonstrated that it will have comprehensive customization options. Players can not only choose their class and archetype, but they can mix and match to create their own perfect armor set. Players have access to individual armor pieces, including helmets, gauntlets, breastplates, and cauldrons, along with a few more. Players can also attach various emblems and have access to an unbelievable number of color patterns to craft their ideal space marine.

3 Brutal Combat

Satisfying and High-Octane Gameplay

The most important thing for a hack-and-slash game is to get the combat right. Unfortunately, this is also the hardest thing to get right. From what we have seen of Space Marines 2 through gameplay reveals, trailers, and early access gameplay, it seems like this will not be a problem for the game. Space Marines 2 effortlessly blends its shooting and long-range mechanics with the absolute carnage of the gorey melee style as well.

Combat looks like it carries real weight, every blow is brutal, and the switch from guns to melee weapons is fluid and effortless. Players can also chain their attacks together for combos, and maybe even combo off of their teammates. Different guns actually feel different, the impact is varied, and the animations alter. Moreover, the enemies don't seem like basic bullet sponges either. Along with the great graphics, and the solid weapon variety, it appears that Space Marines 2 will have some great combat to complement its hack-and-slash nature.

2 Incredible Graphics

This Game Is Set To Be A Visual Delight

Space Marines 2 has incredible graphics. Not only does the combat look fluid and visceral, but the blood and damage systems feel real and carry real weight. Most importantly, the swarms upon swarms of enemies are all designed with the highest graphical fidelity, and of course, they all carry the signature Warhammer visual style.

Players should also be delighted to hear that player units; weapons and armor included, look incredible, and the attention to detail the developers have put into everything is visible. The large sprawling environments are gorgeous, the buildings, damaged environments, and the overall atmosphere all look excellent. It is not that what's directly in front of the players looks great and everything else is mediocre, but instead, every single aspect of the environment from the hordes of enemies in the background, the damaged tiles, and the burning rubble all look great even during combat. Space Marines 2 is just a really good-looking game.

1 Eternal War Mode

Multiple PvP Options

Eternal War Mode is the online multiplayer limb of this game. Eternal War has three 6v6 arena-style multiplayer modes which have taken inspiration from Space Marines 1, Overwatch, and even some earlier Gears of War games. Players can run through Annihilation, Seize Ground, and the Capture and Control modes. Players will have access to six different classes to mold their gameplay around in a variety of maps with tons of post-release content set to arrive.

The three named game modes are Warhammer versions of Domination, King of the Hill, and Team Deathmatch; the three staples of most PvP games. While players might prefer to have a wider variety of game modes, when considering the class and loadout variety along with the unique blended combat Space Marines 2 offers; Eternal War Mode should be exciting. With the promise of post-release support and an anticipated campaign mode, Space Marine 2 has given fans tons of things to be excited about.
