Saber Interactive has revealed the new Horde Mode, coming in Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2 patch 8. Along with the new mode, the developer teased new cosmetic packs and upcoming tweaks to Warhammer 40k: Space Marine 2’s Absolute difficulty.
Space Marine 2 has seen a bunch of updates since it officially came out in 2024, with the developer adding free DLC, cosmetics, and more. In addition to new content, the developer has also rolled out patches to fix gameplay issues and bugs, aiming to keep the game fresh and engaging. Since the official announcement of Space Marine 3, some players were a bit worried that Saber would stop pushing out significant updates like it had been doing - but the developer reassured fans that the next game wouldn't affect Space Marine 2, and that new content would keep coming. Now the developer is delivering on that promise, teasing upcoming Space Marine 2 content.
Space Marine 2: All Heavy Prestige Perks, Ranked
With a selection of 7 Prestige Perks to choose from in the Heavy Class for Space Marine 2, players are going to need to know which are worth grabbing.
Saber has given players a sneak peek at Space Marine 2's Horde Mode, which is coming in patch 8. The developer revealed that the new mode will support up to three players, and that they will have to battle waves of both Tyranids and Chaos. As players defeat the many waves of enemies, the difficulty will keep increasing, and classes and weapon levels will be based on the player’s PvE levels. Alongside the mode’s brief description, the developer shared an image of the Horde Mode map, which takes place in Kadaku.
What's Coming in Space Marine 2 Patch 8?
- Blood Angels Cosmetic Pack
- White Scars Champion Pack
- Horde Mode
- Rebalancing of the Absolute difficulty following the community polls
Players will be able to try out the new mode in the PTS before release, but the dates still remain under wraps. New DLC content has also been teased, and players can expect the Blood Angels cosmetic and White Scars Champion pack, as well as a rebalancing of the Absolute difficulty in patch 8. This latest change came as a result of a community poll Saber carried out, and now players can expect a tougher challenge in Space Marine 2’s Absolute difficulty. Saber also invited players to join “Focus Together,” where they can share their ideas and thoughts on the game, which Saber uses to improve the experience.
Prior to this, Space Marine 2 released the Trygon update, which introduced a new PvE map, new cosmetics, private lobbies allowing players to team up with up to 11 others, and more. However, Saber claimed that there were still surprises coming to Space Marine 2 that “even dataminers haven't found out about.” While players wait for the release date announcement, they have a lot to look forward to in patch 8.
