An official public test server for Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 is now available, allowing players to experience new and current content without the same restrictions found in the base game. Players can hop into the new server, which exists as a separate entity on Steam aside from the actual Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 base game, and essentially gives players the metaphorical keys to the kingdom, unlocking everything and maxing out class progression.

Space Marine 2 was released in 2024 to immediate success, with players praising the game's graphics, gunplay, and various modes. Building off of 2011's Space Marine, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 offers the same chaotic and bloody violence of the original, only on a much bigger scale. Space Marine 2 launched with a hefty amount of content, which has only grown as developer Saber Interactive continues to support the game post-launch. Saber has managed to keep a hand on the pulse of the game's community, with the studio now opening up a Space Marine 2 public test server.

Saber Interactive has finally released a new public test server for Space Marine 2, with the game's publisher Focus Entertainment sharing the news via its official Twitter. This is something that players may have been anticipating, with Space Marine 2 receiving a steady stream of new content since it was released last year. This inaugural version of Space Marine 2's new public test server is essentially a demo for the game's newest patch and will be taken offline once it fully rolls out. Players can expect to see a new weapon, a new prestige feature, and changes to weapon perk balancing in the new server.

In addition, a new Operation mission can be found, which is part of Space Marine 2's PvE mode. Space Marine 2 features both a story mode and an online mode, the latter of which is split into PvE and PvP experiences. Players can either face off against each other or work together to complete missions, all of which help them progress through the ranks. However, players in the new server will have everything unlocked, allowing them to truly test everything Space Marine 2 has to offer. This means that progression does not carry over, with the standard Space Marine 2 game not connecting at all to the new public test server.

Space Marine 2 received a new update back in February that added a number of new items to the game, including a new map as well as changes to the game's Battle Barge system. Additionally, players can now face off against Space Marine 2's newest enemy type, the Biovore, which is an extremis-level opponent. The game also received an update earlier this month, with the launch of a new public test server making it clear developers want to support Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 as much as it can and take the live-service model to new heights.
