An inventive Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 player has turned their character into the RX-78-2 from the Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. With the release of Space Marine 2, developer Saber Interactive is celebrating great success in sales and public reception.

Almost 14 years after the release of the first Space Marine game, which hit the shelves in 2011, Saber Interactive brought Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 to PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S players. In this new entry in the franchise, players take on the role of Demetrian Titus, the protagonist of the first game who, along with other Space Marines, the emperor's most lethal warriors, engage in battles against waves of Tyranids. In addition to an engaging campaign, players can jump into multiplayer, taking on other players in PvP with their friends.

Space Marine 2 Cracking Down on Toxic Behavior

Saber Interactive and publisher Focus Entertainment make it clear that no toxic behavior will be tolerated in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

On Reddit, a user called thats4thebirds transformed their Space Marine into the RX-78-2, one of the best-known mechs from the popular Mobile Suit Gundam franchise. The customization stands out for its faithful reproduction of the mecha's colors, with the Marine's armor having gray/silver-tone and red details on the knees and around the arms and hands. Another distinctive detail is the player character's chest, with the same vivid blue and red band in the center of the head, with the composition of the appearance ending in the red shield, which is reminiscent of the one used by the mecha.

Space Marine 2 Custom Armor Brings RX-78-2 Gundam To The Game

With a success that spans decades and conquers multiple generations, Gundam has been adapted for games and other media, such as live-action, manga, novels, and several famous anime. The series has produced a variety of iconic mecha models, with the RX-78-2 being one of the best remembered. Introduced in the 1979 anime Mobile Suit Gundam, the mecha was primarily piloted by Amuro Ray. Considered a breakthrough for its time, the RX-78-2 was created by the Earth Federation and used more conventional weaponry such as the Hyper Bazooka and a pair of Vulcan guns on its head. As a result, it became the first mobile suit to have firepower comparable to a battleship's beam cannons.

With the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, the community has been using the game's resources to give their characters a new makeover, sharing impressive results. There is no shortage of other equally creative examples, such as the Space Marine 2 version of Optimus Prime, armor inspired by the T-51b Power Armor from Fallout, and even armor customizations inspired by the flags of France and Italy.
