Whether it's to give Titus, Gadriel, and Chairon a hilarious new expression as a Tyranid swarm charges towards them, or show off the brutal imagery of decapitation and action-packed violence, there's a ton of fun players can have if they know how to take photos in Space Marine 2.

How to Access Photo Mode

Space Marine 2 has a Photo Mode that can be accessed directly through the pause menu screen at any time during single-player sessions. Players can access the Photo Mode by pressing Square/X/F on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, respectively. Sadly, Photo Mode cannot be accessed during CGI and pre-rendered cutscenes, nor can it be accessed outside of single-player. This means that those looking to take some nice photos with their gleaming new armor sets in Space Marine 2 during Operations, will be unable to do so. For those asking if Photo Mode is available in Space Marine 2 for co-op, they might be disappointed to hear that upon launch, Photo Mode is restricted to the Campaign Mode in single-player only.

Space Marine 2's Photo Mode Features

photo mode ui

There are a ton of features with Space Marine 2's Photo Mode, and when players experiment with them, the game will automatically save their adjustments so they can jump in and out of the action to take some incredible photography. With the ability to rotate the camera, move it around and up and down, there is free range to take all manners of photographs, with a few more features to recognize in the four distinct tabs:

  • Camera - Allows players to change the field of view, depth of field, intensity, upon other alternate lens concepts.
  • Effects - Add filters, change exposure, brightness, and contrast, upon more settings that will aid in the visuals of the scene.
  • Character - Change the facial expressions of Titus, Gadriel, and Chairon, or remove them from the frame altogether.
  • Frames and Logo - Add distinct frames and logos of Space Marine 2 and Warhammer 40k to the image.

To remove the control schemes and the UI, players will need to hit Square/X/F, and then they are free to screenshot their images on their respective platforms.
