Encountering Imurah In Dawn's Descent (Operation 5)

The second and final encounter with Imurah occurs at the absolute climax of the campaign. After you reach a mysterious location known as Beyond the Rift, a realm outside space and time, you will be searching this strange environment for Lord Calgar. A cutscene will trigger, revealing Imurah and showing Calgar battling a horde alone. Once the cutscene ends, the final boss fight begins. Like previous bosses in Space Marine 2, this fight is also quite bullet-spongey.

How to Enable and Disable Crossplay in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2

Ensure crossplay is enabled in Warhammer 40,000 Space Marine 2 to play with friends on different platforms. Follow steps to check and adjust settings.

Phase 1: Imurah's Attack Pattern

The fight begins with Imurah as your primary opponent. He’s far more elusive than before, as he uses teleportation to rapidly reposition and keep you off balance.

  • Teleportation and Scythe Strikes: Imurah teleports rapidly and strikes you with a giant Scythe. To deal with this, you’ll need to time your dodges carefully. Evading at the last possible second or successfully parrying his Scythe attack will open him up for a Gun Strike, which deals significant damage.
  • Parryable and Non-Parryable Attacks:
    • A blue circle around Imurah signals a parryable attack.
    • A red circle signals an incoming non-parryable attack, which is usually a giant purple plasma shot that must be dodged.
  • Snake Heads: Similar to your first encounter, Imurah summons multiple snake heads that home in on your location. These can be shot down while they’re in the air, but skilled players might prefer to dodge them so that they can keep their focus on Imurah.
  • Purple Circle Attack: Imurah will create a purple circle around you. This attack cannot be parried or dodged. Instead, it transports you to an alternate area for a brief 1v1 duel with Imurah. During this phase, you’ll have to withstand a volley of melee attacks, most of which can be parried. After a few exchanges, you will be sent back to the main arena, where Chairon and Gadriel will rejoin you.
  • Ground Slam: Imurah will occasionally slam his Scythe into the ground, creating a shockwave in the area. This attack has a large area of effect, so maintaining a safe distance.

Melee Attacks Are Superior To Ranged Attacks During Phase 1

Go for melee attacks on Imurah when you can, as they hit much harder than gunfire. Just be sure not to get too greedy. Land a few hits, then back off to stay safe.

Going for melee is safest when Imurah is focused on your teammates.

Space Marine 2: 6 Tips For The Best Co-Op Builds

If players want a better chance at surviving and claiming victory in some of the hardest Operations in Space Marine 2, these tips are for them.

Phase 2: Bird-Like Creature's Attack Pattern

After wearing Imurah down for a while, he will vanish, and a massive birdlike creature will take his place as your opponent. Don’t worry about losing progress — the health bar remains the same, indicating that you’re still in the same overall fight.

  • Black Holes and Plasma Balls: The bird creates several black holes that shoot plasma balls across the arena. Keep on the move to dodge these plasma balls and prevent taking damage.
  • Horizontal Blue Waves: The second time you meet the bird, it will start generating horizontal blue waves that sweep across the arena. Carefully time your dodges to sidestep these waves as they advance toward you.
  • Ground Slam Shockwave: The bird uses its staff to slam the ground, creating shockwaves. Negate the damage by dodging when the wave is about to hit you. The timing is crucial to avoid being caught in the shockwaves. He often slams the staff three times in quick succession.
  • Purple Arena and Golden Eye: As the battle reaches its climax, the bird will begin to suck up the arena, turning everything purple. During this phase, you’ll need to focus on shooting its golden eye. At the same time, be mindful of the arena itself, as there will be damaging spots scattered across the ground.

You will switch between fighting the bird and Imurah. Imurah’s attacks remain mostly the same, but the bird introduces new moves.

Reaching The Final Cutscene In Space Marine 2

As the fight nears its end, you don’t need to fully deplete Imurah’s health. Once his health drops to just below a quarter, the boss fight will automatically conclude, signaling the end of the battle. After the fight, you will be transported to a new area that’s much darker and filled with illusions.

This section is more of a narrative sequence than a combat-heavy encounter, but you will still need to stay on your guard. Push forward through the illusions until you finally meet Lord Calgar. Along the way, you’ll have to defeat a few swarms of enemies and parry some final attacks from Imurah. As you move toward the bright light in the distance, a final cutscene will begin.

Congratulations, you have now finished the game and are just moments away from the credits screen.

Finishing the campaign doesn't mark the end of your journey in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. You can now aim to complete Operations, which are co-op side stories connected to the campaign. You can also dive into multiplayer action with your friends.
