The Arbitrators of the Adeptus Arbites offer a completely new playstyle to Warhammer 40K: Darktide. Apart from commanding Cyber Mastiffs to take down priority targets, they also bring the full force of the Lex Imperialis down on the forces of Chaos using weapons with immense crowd control potential.
Arbitrators are sort of a mix between Ogryns and Zealots with some sprinkles of the Veteran in Darktide, and as far as weapons go, they have a decent selection to choose from. This guide goes over all the weapons that Arbitrators can use in hopes of helping players find the ones that work best for them.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide - What is Finesse Damage?
Finesse is a core stat for some of the more elegant melee weapons found in Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. Here's what it does.
Best Arbitrator Melee Weapons in Darktide
The Arbites have a somewhat even split between melee weapons that can Cleave through hordes and ones that deal high single-target damage. As this class is meant for crowd control, players may want to lean into the former, though the latter is always an option for those who prefer high-damage builds.

Description |

Arbites Shock Maul (Arbites Exclusive) |
The Arbites-issue Shock Maul is the Arbitrator's default weapon. It features excellent Cleave potential with good Strikedown attacks, and it can continuously electrocute enemies with every swing of its Special Attack. |
|
Arbites Shock Maul and Suppression Shield (Arbites Exclusive) |
Every hit with the Shock Maul and Suppression Shield electrocutes enemies, and the shield can be activated to stun and suppress enemies in a wide cone in front of the Arbitrator. |
|
Shock Maul |
Shock Mauls offer a balance between single-target and AOE attacks. Their Weapon Special lets players incapacitate targets on-demand. |
|
Crusher |
A two-handed Shock Maul with wide attacks, perfect for controlling crowds. Activate the maul to power up your next hit with an electrifying blast. |
|
Assault Chainsword |
Versatile weapons with good single-target and AOE damage. Rev the Chainsword to deal massive damage on your next attack. |
|
Combat Axe |
One-handed axes with very high single-target damage — perfect for taking out tanky targets, but somewhat suffer when it comes to dealing with big crowds. |
|
Tactical Axe |
Like Combat Axes, but lighter and faster. These excel at killing one target at a time. |
Recommendation
The Shock Maul and Suppression Shield combo is arguably the best melee weapon in the Arbitrator's arsenal for players who are looking for an all-around pick. It deals good damage in both single-target and AOE scenarios, and its Weapon Special is insanely good for crowd control. The either mauls aren't bad either, but this one gets extra points thanks to its amazing Special ability.
Best Ranged Weapons for Arbites in Darktide
Gun options for Arbitrators are limited to ballistic weapons only, which means no lasguns, plasma guns, or explosives. The majority of the weapons here excel at close range, though there are a few options for players who prefer precision over volume of fire.

Recommendations
Despite the somewhat limited selection, the ranged weapon options for Arbitrators are actually very versatile. There's a gun for every occassion here, and ultimately, your choice here boils down to the needs of your build and, of course, personal preference. Still, we do have some recommendations:
- Subductor Shotpistols, Bolt Pistols, and Zarona-variant Stub Revolvers are great for taking out Elite and Special enemies.
- Agripiina-variant Combat Shotguns and Autoguns are also good for picking off targets at a distance.
- Exterminator and Double Barrel Shotguns are amazing against crowds at close range.
- Boltguns can decimate bosses and units with Carapace Armor in Darktide if players build into them properly.
