Stimpacks (also refered to as Stims or Stimms) are consumable items in Warhammer 40K: Darktide that give players an edge in battle. They're one-time-use only, and while the effects they provide are powerful, they don't last very long, making them valuable only in situations that call for them.

Using a Stim at the right time and place can spell the difference between a successful mission and one that ends in failure. They may even be the key to getting some of Darktide's hardest Penances. Here are all the Stims available in the game and what you can expect from them.

All Stimm Effects in Darktide

All Darktide Stims

There are four different types of Stimms in Darktide — three of them provide short-lasting effects that greatly boost a player's abilities, while the other simply restores health like how a Healing Draught would in Vermintide. In any case, these are all valuable items, especially on Auric difficulty with the toughest modifiers the game has to offer.

All Stimms in Darktide are useful for all classes, though Combat and Celerity Stimms tend to be the most useful. Veterans and Psykers in particular stand to benefit a lot from those two — Plasma Guns and Psyker Staves are already devastating by themselves, and if you juice them up with a Combat or Celerity Stimm, they become even stronger.

Meanwhile, Med Stimms and Concentration Stimms are slightly less valuable, mainly because healing can be sought from other sources and Combat Ability cooldowns typically aren't that long to warrant a Stimm. However, the latter does come in clutch in high difficulties, especially with abilities like Voice of Command, which can turn the tide of battle in the blink of an eye.

Where to Find Stimms

Stimms can be found in random spawn locations throughout a mission. They can be picked up just lying about in the world, or found inside chests. They are a bit uncommon, and players can carry only one Stimm at a time. Picking up another will force you to swap your current Stimm with it.
