Understanding Weapon Upgrades In Space Marine 2
In Space Marine 2, your weapons follow three upgrade tiers, including Master-Crafted, Artificer, and Relic, with Relic being the final upgrade tier. To upgrade your weapons to each tier, you must acquire the respective Armory Data, denoted by the green, purple, and gold symbols in the top right corner of your screen. You can acquire Armory Data by running and completing the Operations mode on varying difficulties. However, you can easily earn a few green Armory Data by completing Trials for the first time.
All weapons start at the standard tier and using them in missions earns you experience points towards that weapon. Once the weapon reaches the maximum XP within the Standard tier, you earn a mastery point and the option to transition to the Master-Crafted tier by investing the green Armory Data. You must follow this trend to earn Mastery Points within each tier and invest the corresponding Armory Data within each armory slot to upgrade your weapons. Just like the green Armory Data, purple and gold Armory Data allow you to upgrade your weapons to Artificer and Relic tiers, respectively.

How To Acquire Armory Data In Space Marine 2
As mentioned earlier, there are three types of Armory Data in Space Marine 2, each corresponding to the weapon upgrade tier they unlock. You can acquire each Armory Data type in the following ways:
- Master-Crafted Armory Data (Green): The easiest way to acquire Master-Crafted Armory Data is to complete the short trials for the first time and meet all the tactical objectives presented. Additionally, you can also run Operations at Threat level: Minimal or Average, and find the Master-Crafted Armory Data that spawns in various locations on the map. You can only spend Master-Crafted Armory Data once you've reached the required XP within the Standard tier. The green armory data allows you to break through the threshold and progress to the Master-Crafted tier.
- Artificer Armory Data (Purple): You can find and acquire Artificer Armory Data upon starting and completing Operations at threat level: Substantial. Like the Master-Crafted Armory Data, you must explore the map during Operations and look for the Artificer Armory Data spawn location. The purple Armory Data can be spent in the Artificer tier after you've earned the required XP within the Master-Crafted tier to break through to the Artificer tier.
- Relic Armory Data (Gold): Similarly, earning the Relic Armory Data requires running and completing operations on the Ruthless difficulty. The gold Armory Data can be spent on the Relic tier to upgrade your weapons to their maximum level.
