RELATED: Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun Review

On the surface, Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun tasks players to do the impossible. However, this retro shooter-inspired Warhammer 40k title offers the Space Marine many boons in the form of Relics and Special Ammo, hidden away Secrets. These powerups can make all the difference and demand only for a player to seek them out, which proves challenging as some lie behind unobvious nooks and doors masquerading as ordinary walls. This guide will save players trouble by revealing every Secret in Chapter One, Missionss 1-4.

Mission One - Off Target (Secrets: One)

Secret One - Assault Doctrine

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Shrine

After crashlanding on Graia, players must progress through the mission, ripping and tearing through hoards of lowly enemies and going through the short learning portion of Warhammer 40,000: Boltgun. They will eventually happen upon a shrine room containing the revered Boltgun; after acquiring it, they must go to the end of the room and drop down a long shaft.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Shaft

Upon reaching the bottom, they must slay some cultists, push a button, and enter the next room.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Cultist Room One

Unsurprisingly, waiting in the next room are more enemies, which the player must make quick work of before entering the next room ahead.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Cultist Room Two

Immediately entering the seemingly empty room will cause a purge protocol, so players should stop in the doorway and quickly head to the corner directly to their right.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun AdMech Secret Wall

There, they will find a portion of the wall bearing a symbol of the Adeptus Mechanicus. Players must approach this wall. Doing so reveals this to be a door that they can open.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Wall

Once they do, cultists will greet them with the hospitality of the Ruinous Powers. After slaying their foes, players must head to the gate of the towering wall to their right.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun AdMech Gate

There, they will find a button that opens the gate before them. Players must press it, opening the gate and revealing an area plagued by cultists and Chaos Space Marines.

Defeating these enemies will be somewhat challenging, but once slain, players can head to the back of the area, near the cliffside, where they will find the Emperor's Visage Relic — a powerup granting them 300 Contempt, a staggering defense against the Forces of Chaos ahead.

Secret Two - Munitions Boon

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Quake Cannons

Continuing from Secret One, players will move until they come upon the area boasting two massive guns, Quake Cannons.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Left Ramp

There will be many enemies in this region that players must either vanquish or evade to reach the ramp to the left. Players must ascend the ramp and deal with the few heretics atop.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Rocks

Players will reach a portion with a building ahead and a path to the left, but rather than continue forward, they will jump from atop the rock to the left, then from there to the one on the right.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Platform

Atop the rock, players will see a platform across, with yellow paint marking its edge. They must jump to this platform.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Ch. 1 Mission Two Secret Two

Adorning the center of this platform is the Munitions Boon Relic, a powerup increasing the ammo capacity of every weapon, which is especially beneficial for guns with small magazines, like the Meltagun.

After taking the Shotgun and dispatching several enemies, players must head to the opening to the right, where they will find the Red Key and the Emperor's Visage Relic across atop the head of a statue. Getting the powerup requires players to leap and clamber on the statue's head.

Soon, they will reach an elevator descending into an arena-like area, initiating a Purge Protocol.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Staircase Across

Players must jump across to the staircase directly opposite of the elevator and follow it up.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Unsuspicious Walls

Atop the staircase is a seemingly empty space, but should players approach the unsuspicious walls to their right, they will discover there is more than apparent.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Suspicious Wall

They will find a smoother section of the wall, which, if they approach, reveals itself to be a door that they can open by interacting with it.

They will enter the building and, behind a column, will be Dragonfire Rounds, Special Ammunition that causes a fiery death for enemies covering a wider area.

Mission Four - Silent Martyrs (Secrets: Six)

Secret One - Machine Spirit

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Mission Ch.1 Mission Four Red Key

Upon starting Silent Martyrs, players will progress through the mission as they would and seek out the Red Key for the Red Door. It is in a room on the upper levels of the towering purple building directly across from where players start; the door to the room will be closed initially, but it will open when approached, unleashing a swarm of Nurglings. Players must take out the lesser daemons and collect the Red Key.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Under Bridge Area

Once they grab the Red Key, players must leave the room and drop down to the lower levels of the area from the bridge. Underneath the bridge, directly under the room players were just in, they will find a doorway to a space previously locked tight. They must go inside.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Ch.1 Mission Four Secret One

Following the tunnel down leads players to the Machine Spirit Relic, a surefire way of making the Boltgun even more powerful, with some Health and Contempt along the way.

Secret Two - Munitions Boon

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Exit Room

From here, players must exit the room and make a left once they are outside.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Ch.1 Mission Four Purple Door

Heading this way will bring them to the Purple Door, but they need not worry about it now. Instead, they will turn their attention to the space left of the door.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Ammo Crates

At first, it seems there is nothing more than sandbags, braziers, and a crate, but there lies the Secret.

Meandering through the catacombs will bring players to an area infested by Nurglings and Plague Toads. After dealing with these disease-infested foes, players must head to the barred structure in the center of the room; they will find the Purple Key within.

Left of the Purple Key, players will find a path illuminated by a purple light. Following this path leads them to a Purple Door, which they must unlock.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Path Below

Unknowingly, players reveal the Secret by unlocking this door. They must head straight across from this Purple Door to a set of descending stairs leading to a now open doorway.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Ch.1 Mission Four Secret Three

Going down the stairs and into the room brings players to the Vortex Grenade Relic, which is more than enough to deal with whatever foes the Ruinous Powers throw at them.

From their current position on the ruined bridge, players must descend the flight of stairs to their left to the bottom floor.

Warhammer 40000 Boltgun Two Doorways

Here, they can see two doorways in the corner of the area heading elsewhere. Following either will lead players down a set of stairs to a room not too far below.
