Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 is the dream title all Warhammer fans have been waiting for, as they get to once again take control of the franchise's iconic super soldiers and flex their might against a host of Tyranid swarms and the traitorous forces of the Chaos Space Marines. Titus and his comrades will have to deal with more than just the standard basic warriors, the game features a wealth of elite-level adversaries to overcome.
In the opening missions of both the campaign and operations modes of Space Marine 2, players will need to deal with Tyranid forces on the jungle planet of Kadaku. One of the toughest enemies to deal with are Raveners, which can prove a thorn in the side to Titus. Players looking to complete the Unhand My Brother achievement in Space Marine 2 will need to rescue their comrade from the clutches of this deadly creature. Here is how to do it.
Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 - How To Mark Enemies
Marking enemies will not only earn players the Pure Them All achievement in Space Marine 2, but will help them communicate with squad mates.
How To Get The Unhand My Brother Trophy
Among the swarms of Tyranids players will need to destroy are a number of larger adversaries that will prove a greater challenge than the standard Tyranid warriors. Of the more elite Tyranid enemy type s in Space Marine 2 are
Raveners, which slither along the ground like a snake but will quickly pounce on unsuspecting players and unleash a barrage of strikes with their multiple sharp, bladed arms.
To complete the Unhand My Brother trophy/achievement and work towards completing the optional in-game objectives, players will need to rescue a comrade from the clutches of a Ravener. This will require a comrade allowing the Ravener to grab them, which, for active players, is the unblockable attack indicated by the red arrow and triggers the mini-game to escape. It is during this mini-game that another player will need to unleash a barrage from their firearm to force the creature to release you. While this sounds relatively simple, in theory, it's a little tougher than expected. To pull this off, you'll need to be at the right place at the right time.
The easiest way to earn this achievement is in the online Operations missions with a friend, as communicating the requirements of the trophy with someone else will make this a lot simpler to accomplish. Players who are aggressive towards a Ravener will be its target, so a comrade will need to get the creature's attention, then avoid blocking or moving out of the way of its advances as it tries to grab them. Once the beast has your comrade wrapped up in its tail and begins striking with its talons, open fire on it until it releases your squad mate and the achievement will be unlocked.
How To Complete Unhand My Brother Solo
While completing Unhand My Brother can be relatively simple when you have friends to play the game co-op with, not all gamers have this option available. Thankfully, this can still be achieved as a solo player, but it does require a conscious change in battle strategy.
Raveners will generally gravitate towards solo players, so it is difficult to complete this objective as the monster simply has no interest in the other marines. Thankfully, there is a workaround to that. The key to getting the Ravener to focus on comrades is to limit the amount of damage you do to the creature, and focus on clearing the area of all other enemies. Raveners generally will be accompanying a swarm of Tyranids, so focus on avoiding its attacks and destroying the rest of the swarm.
With the rest of the swarm dispatched, your comrades will automatically focus their attention on the Ravener. It is important that you minimize the damage prior to this engagement, so your squad doesn't kill the beast before it has a chance to grab one of them. With this in mind, simply follow the creature's movements until it grabs one of the other members of the squad and focus your fire on it until it lets go.
If you are playing solo, we recommend attempting to complete this achievement in the second mission of the Campaign, Severance. There is a checkpoint where you will need to open a door onto another battle, where you will assist the Astra Militarum with dealing with Tyranids. During this section, there are two Raveners. If you can't get the achievement the first time, simply go back to the last checkpoint, but don't wait until the second one is dead, as that will trigger another checkpoint.
