Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, The Walking Dead will be cutting its 10th season short for the time being, with the upcoming Episode 15: The Tower set to be the final episode of the season until later in 2020. A sneak peek for the new Walking Dead episode has been released online, and the clip suggests that the show may be showing an important character death from the comics. Please note that this article will have Walking Dead comic book spoilers, so proceed with caution.

The clip shows Aaron and Alden trapped in the titular tower while Beta and the Whisperer horde are roaming outside. In the comic books, Father Gabriel finds himself in a similar situation. When he goes to escape, he ends up getting stuck upside down on a ladder, and then Beta cuts him open, letting the zombies finish him off. Gabriel is nowhere to be seen in the clip, so it's possible that his big death scene will be given to a different character instead.

The Walking Dead TV series has often given comic death scenes to other characters, for one reason or another. Notably, Abraham's original death from the comics was given to someone else so that he could be part of the lineup that was terrorized by Negan. It's possible then that The Walking Dead TV series will be giving Gabriel's death to Aaron or Alden, since they're the two actually seen in the tower.

Of course, this could just be a distraction so comic book fans are thrown off-guard. Whatever does happen in The Walking Dead Season 10 Episode 15: The Tower, though, we do know that proper closure won't be coming until later this year. Hopefully the episode is exciting enough to hold fans over until The Walking Dead Season 10 finale can air.

The Walking Dead airs Sunday nights on AMC.
