Bars are used to display a variety of information in Visions of Mana, including a character's current HP and MP. While the meanings behind these bars are usually quite obvious, one that may leave players slightly confused will eventually appear. More specifically, fans may have questions about the vertical yellow bar in Visions of Mana, and this guide contains the answers that they seek.
Visions of Mana: What is the Yellow Bar?
The yellow bar, which is referred to as the "mana gauge" in-game, is connected to Elemental Breaks, abilities in Visions of Mana that "draw out the true power of an elemental vessel." Players will gain access to these abilities by unlocking Elemental Break nodes on the Elemental Plot, and they can unlock the first of those nodes after using the Soul Guard Tonic that is awarded upon defeating the Kraken in Chapter 1.
Visions of Mana: All Weapons & How to Get Them
There are a series of different weapons in Visions of Mana, with each character having access to specific choices.
Once a player has unlocked an Elemental Break node on a character's Elemental Plot, they will be able to use the ability when the vertical bar is filled with yellow. To execute the maneuver, JRPG fans must simply hold F on a keyboard, R2 on a PlayStation controller, or RT on an Xbox controller, and the vertical bar will fully deplete as soon as the Elemental Break has been used.
With respect to how to replenish the vertical bar, it will fill as players collect particles of mana. Those particles drop when an Elemental Vessel is used in combat, and they also restore small amounts of MP when consumed. Players who want to have frequent access to their Elemental Breaks are thus advised to use their Elemental Vessels in Visions of Mana whenever they are not on cooldown, which is represented by a countdown to the right of a character's HP and MP bars.
While Visions of Mana players need not be too concerned about maximizing the uptime of their Elemental Breaks in easy battles, these abilities can certainly be quite helpful when fighting a Nemesis or other challenging enemy. Indeed, not only do Elemental Breaks have very powerful effects, they also increase the strength of magic and moves of the same element temporarily.
Fans of Mana games are thus advised to use their Elemental Vessels at the beginning of hard fights and then pay close attention to the vessels' cooldown. This strategy makes it possible to accumulate mana particles very quickly, and players who employ it should find that they frequently have a full yellow bar to use as they please.
