After a long wait, FromSoftware revealed an Elden Ring DLC expansion titled Shadow of the Erdtree. This announcement arrived with nothing more than a cryptic image that fans have already begun to thoroughly comb for details, but it is unclear how long they will have to wait still until a release date is offered as this image is not indicative of how far along Shadow of the Erdtree is. Still, it will be interesting to see if FromSoftware is aiming for a 2023 release given how close that would bring it to Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon.

Speaking of Soulslikes, Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is the latest collaboration between Team Ninja and Koei Tecmo, building upon their Nioh roots with another stylish action-RPG. Released on Xbox Game Pass day one was a great boon for the game, but Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty’s launch was marred by performance issues. Hopefully a larger set of fixes come around soon for those excited to really dive in.

As Obsidian Entertainment fans await more news on The Outer Worlds 2, there is no better time to hop back into its predecessor. Obsidian recently announced The Outer Worlds: Spacer’s Choice Edition as an upscaled remaster of the original, and will also be raising the game’s original level cap.

Fans who have already purchased The Outer Worlds may be eligible for a reduced price tag on the remaster. Remasters and remakes are sometimes launched in a timeframe where more is ready to be shared about another title in the same franchise, often as a way to raise excitement and get more people invested in the property. If so, Spacer’s Choice Edition could potentially mean that The Outer Worlds 2 news isn't far off.

Both games recently appeared during the PlayStation State of Play centering largely on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, but it seems like another stage is being set for Resident Evil 4 and other Capcom titles next week.

The recently announced Capcom Spotlight will apparently be a 26-minute livestream with details on Resident Evil 4, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, and Exoprimal. This cements Capcom’s lineup of current and upcoming games moving forward into 2023, and who knows what other surprises may appear.

March is positioned to be a huge month for Diablo 4 as its Early Access and Open Beta weekends will soon be upon fans. Diablo 4 does not release until early June, but having two beta weekends this month will give Blizzard an opportunity to iron out any glaring bugs in the meantime. Meanwhile, players will be able to experience what the newest Diablo installment is like about three months early.

Rewards for participating in these betas have been revealed, such as the Beta Wolf Pack cosmetic item that will congratulate players for reaching Kyovashad or reaching level 20 on a character. Fans wondering how graphically intensive the game will be on PC should refresh themselves on Diablo 4’s system specification requirements revealed ahead of the beta launches.

Marvel’s Midnight Suns’ second DLC pack launched last week, bringing in Venom as a playable character. Therefore, there are particular strategies to consider for Venom that can make him exceptionally effective in tactical combat.

Movies & TV

Continuing with what seems like a newly revitalized video game adaptation trend, it was recently announced that a movie based on the asymmetrical horror game Dead by Daylight is in development from Behaviour Interactive, Jason Blum’s Blumhouse, and James Wan’s Atomic Monster.

Guides

Like expansions that have preceded it, Destiny 2’s Lightfall once again makes some important changes to how the science-fiction FPS behaves. One of the most significant changes accompanying Lightfall is upgrades for buildcrafting, which is now labeled as buildcrafting 2.0 and streamlined through quality-of-life improvements.
