Summary

  • The Vampire Survivors 1.6.108 update brings Chinese (Traditional) localization and numerous fixes and improvements to the gameplay experience.
  • Although not as significant as previous updates, the developer is dedicated to continuously enhancing the game and providing the best possible experience for players.
  • The previous update introduced co-op gameplay, allowing up to four players to team up and create chaotic runs, adding a new element to the game.

Vampire Survivors has just released its new 1.6.108 update, which fixes a few issues and also improves several small aspects of the experience. Vampire Survivors became very popular due to its innovative gameplay, and its developer is working hard to continue improving the game.

Created by the sole developer Luca “Poncle” Galante, Vampire Survivors was an unexpected hit. In this Castlevania-inspired title, players can only control a character’s movement, as the weapons fire on their own, which adds a whole new layer of depth in deciding what weapons to pick, or where to move. This creates an addictive gameplay loop in which gamers try to find the best weapon combinations in Vampire Survivors to beat enemies quickly and survive even longer to beat their own best runs.

Now, a new update has been unveiled for Vampire Survivors. The 1.6.108 update brings Chinese (Traditional) localization to Vampire Survivors, as well as several small fixes to countless gameplay aspects. Some examples include improving the UI, fixing VFX at different aspect ratios, allowing UI pages to be scrolled quicker, preventing DLC enemies from spawning from players who didn’t own them, reducing issues with potential crashes, and much more. Other changes are often regarding problems with weapons not working as intended in specific situations, or visual glitches.

Overall, the update comes with dozens of small, yet significant changes that will improve the experience of playing Vampire Survivors, but it does not bring much new to the table. Last month, a previous update added co-op to Vampire Survivors. This allowed up to four gamers to play Vampire Survivors together, which offered a whole new experience for fans, as they could get even more chaotic runs by teaming up with friends.

While not nearly as big as the previous Tides of the Foscari DLC, which brought new characters and a whole new area inspired by Western Europe to the game, these recent updates are proof that the developer is working hard to give Vampire Survivors player the best possible experience, as the game changed a lot since its original release, and mostly for the best. At the moment, no sequel to Vampire Survivors has been announced yet, but gamers will certainly be curious to see what Galante has in store for them next.
