Vampire Survivors continues to grow even larger with The Coop, a free update that arrives alongside the free Emerald Diorama crossover expansion. While the SaGa collaboration in the Emerald Diorama DLC is a huge highlight of this Vampire Survivors patch, The Coop still has a bunch of secrets to discover and new items to unlock, including weapons like the Gaze of Gaea and the all-new chicken character Gazebo.
As the name implies, The Coop is a chicken-themed update for Vampire Survivors. It adds an all-new map to the game, a new relic that modifies the game's speed, and more. Gazebo is the only new character added in The Coop update (the rest are reserved for the Emerald Diorama DLC), and he's fairly easy to unlock once players learn what to do.
Vampire Survivors: 15 Strongest Standard Characters, Ranked
Vampire Survivors features a vast array of playable characters for gamers to make use of; here are the strongest standard characters in the game.
How to Unlock The Coop in Vampire Survivors
To unlock Gazebo in Vampire Survivors, players must evolve the new Gaze of Gaea weapon into Embrace of Gaea. Both weapons are new Vampire Survivors in this update. Before players can do that, though, The Coop stage must be unlocked first by collecting a lifetime total of 500 Floor Chickens.
Floor Chickens are the health pickups that spawn periodically throughout Vampire Survivors stages. There's not really any strategy to grinding Floor Chickens, so players may have to grind for a few hours if they don't already have a Vampire Survivors save file with the criteria met. Grinding for gold will net players at least a few Floor Chickens per round, so that's a good place to start for newcomers.
How to Evolve the Gaze of Gaea in Vampire Survivors
Once The Coop is unlocked, players can unlock the Gaze of Gaea weapon by avoiding enemies for one full minute at the start of a round. If players avoid killing any enemies for the first minute of a run of The Coop, the Gaze of Gaea weapon will be unlocked.
At that point, players can venture to the right end of The Coop stage to find a Parm Aegis and the new Roast Chicken With a Clock in the Middle relic, which makes the game run at double speed. The relic is nice to have, but only Parm Aegis is required for the weapon evolution. Parm Aegis was initially introduced in the Ode to Castlevania DLC, but players don't need to own that expansion to collect the item on The Coop stage. With Gaze of Gaea and Parm Aegis in hand, Gaze of Gaea can evolve into Embrace of Gaia.
Once players have obtained Embrace of Gaia for the first time, Gazebo the chicken will be permanently added to the Vampire Survivors roster. Gazebo's starting weapon is Gaze of Gaea, and this chicken has a passive bonus that grants it +50% move speed. With Gazebo unlocked, players will have completed the majority of The Coop content in Vampire Survivors. That leaves plenty of time for grinding the new SaGa Emerald Diorama collaboration DLC.
