The roguelike Vampire Survivors exploded onto the scene in 2022 in a hail of lasers, birds, and clacking skeletons. Since then, many newer titles have been released that borrow from the developer, poncle's, style. Vampire Survivors continues to go strong with a dedicated fan base and heaps of free content that might leave fans asking where to start, or where to go next in the extensive end-game areas. The long list of stages, including a collection of DLC stages, offers unique challenges and relics to collect and some are much harder than others.

Vampire Survivors: The 41 Best Weapons, Ranked

The weapons in Vampire Survivors were balanced well, but some are noticeably better than others. Here are the best options to pick.

Here are the hardest stages players can access in Vampire Survivors, listed in order of difficulty, along with the steps players need to take to unlock any of the secret levels.

6 Cappella Magna

Unlocked By Reaching Level 80 In Gallo Tower

  • +40% Move Speed
  • +40% Gold

Cappella Magna is one of the last stages that players will unlock as they make their way through the game. Before they find any of the secret relics and the extensive hyper and inverse modes of the regular stages, survivors are plunged into a sprawling stage stuffed with enemies with huge amounts of health who come in large waves and deal a decent amount of damage.

The enemies on this map are some of the toughest on any stage and have explosive abilities and projectiles of their own to make their way through player health. Stage interactions in the form of stained-glass windows can flood areas with light to damage nearby enemies, but this might be the only chance players have to thin the horde.

5 Green Acres

Unlocked By Unlocking Hyper Mode For 2 Other Stages

  • +25% Move Speed
  • +50% Enemy Health
  • Random enemy waves from normal stages

Green Acres can be difficult to unlock for fans who aren't aware of the unlock conditions. After players have completed the conditions to unlock the hyper mode on two other stages, usually by killing specific bosses, Green Acres will unlock. Here, players will find much tougher enemies to kill, which means less frequent level-ups, fewer weapons, and fewer passive skills to make for an easier run.

This makes a playthrough on Green Acres slower and more tense, especially during the opening stages. Randomly chosen enemies being thrown at the player can mean much tougher forces arriving early or enemies that players have not prepared for showing up at the worst possible time.

4 The Bone Zone

Unlocked By Unlocking Hyper Mode For 3 Other Stages

  • +25% Move Speed
  • +50% Gold
  • No Item Drops
  • Enemies grow stronger over time

After unlocking Green Acres, only one more Hyper stage unlock stands between players and one of the harder stages in the entire game. The Bone Zone features thousands of skeletons, of all different shapes and sizes, swarming the player.

11 Tabletop RPGs With Strange Systems

Sick of standard Dungeons and Dragons tabletop experiences? These TTRPGs mix it up with some unusual gameplay systems that keep every session fresh.

The lack of item drops along the way also serves to ensure no sneaky power-ups, like the vacuum, the rosary or last-minute health items can be collected, making the whole adventure a lot more intense. Players will need to rely on their clever planning to put together a build that can withstand enemies who will move faster, hit harder, and last longer as the stage progresses.

3 Boss Rash

Unlocked By Unlocking Hyper Mode In 5 Stages

Boss Rush_Unlocking Gyorunton in Vampire Survivors
  • 15:00 Time Limit
  • +25% Move Speed
  • +50% Enemy Health
  • Waves include a lot of bosses from all stages

The reward for unlocking Hyper mode on all the normal stages is this tricky challenge. Players are locked inside a small arena, with no access to the items outside, while bosses and strong enemies spawn all around, including special enemies that fire area-of-effect attacks.

Staying within the confines of the walls makes this much harder than it could be otherwise, and players will have their work cut out for them to survive for the whole fifteen-minute time limit. Add to this a secret challenge that asks players to survive using only one weapon, and fans have an insanely difficult map to contend with.

2 Eudaimonia Machine

Unlocked After Obtaining All Standard Relics From All Stages

  • Boss Fight!

The final standard stage to be unlocked brings players face to face with "The Director." Implied to have been pulling the strings across the whole game, the Director will face off against the player by firing projectiles at them, summoning enemies, and will remain impervious while the player fights for their life.

10 Games That Switch Up The Vampire Survivors Formula

While Vampire Survivors basically created a whole subgenre of games similar to it, not all of them are 'carbon copies', such as these games.

If fans can last till the end of the creature's attack phases they will get an opportunity to actually fight back and defeating the all-powerful opponent will reward players with a showering of gold and gems and let fans finally view the credits, signaling the completion of this brutal game.

1 Polus Replica

Emergency Meeting DLC

vampire-survivors-emergency-meeting-dlc-among-us-crossover-announced-dec-2023
  • +40% Move Speed
  • +50% Gold

Perhaps the hardest of the stages, and the most difficult of the DLC maps by far, Polus Replica plunges the characters of Vampire Survivors into the world of Among Us where they must navigate the research station from the popular social deduction game while fending off the standard enemies and some peculiar variants. All the while, emergency warnings will trigger and prompt players to go to parts of the station to stop spontaneous eruptions or, bizarrely, get rid of the faint smell of vinegar.

If players fail to heed these warnings, the run will be made much more difficult, with tanky robots spawning as part of the next wave to decimate player health, fire projectiles spewing across the screen, and things generally getting much more frantic.
