For a while now, a mobile version of Valorant has been teased, hinted at, and speculated to be coming. It was never confirmed, but the notion of it happening was always intriguing, especially since the game has been a great success on PC. With other big franchises like Fortnite and Call of Duty jumping to mobile gaming, it was never too much a surprise that Valorant could potentially join. The first-person shooter came out only last year, but has made an impression through several tournaments and esports.

Valorant has been highly successful on PC as the developer claims that it averages 14 million monthly players, which is an impressively large number considering the game has been out for only a year now. Additionally, Riot claims that more than 1 million concurrent viewers tuned in to the finals of its Iceland competitive tournament on May 31st. Riot has consistently supported Valorant with fixes and new maps, which has only added to its growth.

The news of a mobile version for Valorant isn't all too surprising, with Riot launching a League of Legends spinoff on mobile called Wild Rift. The move to the mobile gaming scene is something that many other developers are beginning to note. Fortnite was one of the early examples of a highly successful port. Still, Call  of Duty Mobile has been so successful that the game warranted a Call of Duty Mobile World Championship tournament.

Yet, Valorant Mobile isn't the only way that Riot intends on expanding the franchise. While not many details have been revealed, the developer stated it is "preparing to expand the franchise in order to bring Valorant to more players around the world." The following news could be hinting at a possible Valorant console port, which has been teased previously. Not much else was said, but it's important to note that Riot could stretch out the franchise through other media as it has done with League of Legends,  which has gone from a comic book series to a Netflix animated series.

Growing the franchise past the games industry could be a good thing, allowing Riot the potential of creating interesting methods of telling stories within this franchise. After all, whether Riot decides to expand the franchise onto a TV series or comics, it means fans can expect more exciting content for Valorant.
