A Valheim player has recently shared the incredibly detailed base they built on an island with their brother. Valheim is among the best base-building games ever made, offering many options to gamers, and these two players show how talented the community is at making interesting buildings.

Valheim was released in early access in 2021, and it has been in development since then. The Norse-inspired survival game managed to sell over 12 million units on Steam, becoming one of the biggest indie hits on the platform and was eventually released for Xbox in 2023.

Valheim Sits on a Gold Mine Best Saved for After Early Access

Valheim has been sitting on a gold mine for over three years that, at this point, it shouldn't take advantage of until after it leaves early access.

Now, TimeRockOrchestra has shared a video showcasing the incredible base they created together with their brother on an island in the Plains biome. This huge base had multiple buildings, a beautiful garden, docks, and a huge gate. Inside the building, it was possible to see many huge rooms with bedrooms, deposits, a trophy room, and more. According to TimeRockOrchestra, the base started as a small garden and evolved across around two months of play as the brothers added more details to it. The two gamers did not use any mods for resource duplication, modifying Valheim only to prevent weather damage, and allow any item to be displayed on stands.

Valheim Player's Amazing Island Base

This base is just the latest of many amazing buildings that were built by Valheim players during the year. For instance, one gamer created a huge castle in Valheim’s Meadows biome a few weeks ago. The construction included interesting details, such as a huge dragon statue on it, as well as a central forge and a tower with armor stands.

Other players, instead of making huge castles or well-defended bases, have tried more creative approaches. For example, a gamer recreated The Lord of the Rings’ Amon Sul in Valheim. This iconic location was seen in the first movie of Peter Jackson’s LotR trilogy, and the player’s creation greatly resembled the location.

While most Valheim players proudly display their creations to the community, one of them recently decided to share the moment that their base was destroyed by Valheim’s Ashland update. The Ashlands biome was introduced in Valheim’s latest major update back in May, and the new area spawned around the southern edges of the world map. At the time, the gamer shared the exact moment when the biome changed, destroying the floor and their base with it, showing the consequences of building in an unsafe area after the devs warned the community about the changes.
