Sony’s PlayStation 5 has entered its sixth year in 2026. While it obviously already has a fair share of solid games that either are 100% exclusive to it (like Astro Bot or Demon's Souls) or used to be exclusive before being ported to PC (like Marvel's Spider-Man 2, Death Stranding 2, or Final Fantasy 16), many are wondering what Sony has in store for this console in the near future.
The Biggest Games Revealed At State Of Play That Are Coming In 2026
February 2026's State of Play unveiled several exciting new games, a few of which are set to debut on the PS5 and other platforms in 2026.
Truth be told, the PS5 is a powerful system that’s capable of rendering beautiful worlds, so it’s safe to say that expectations for its future lineup are quite high. Many upcoming video games have been officially confirmed as PS5 exclusives, but the following eight are the most notable ones so far.
The only requirement is that a PS5 game has to be a console exclusive, so they might still come out on PC. Nowadays, most games also launch on PC, so this is the only way to do it.

Saros
Housemarque’s Next Game Is A Spiritual Successor To Returnal
Back in 2021, Finnish studio Housemarque surprised players with the release of Returnal, a fast-paced third-person shooter with roguelike elements that was a critical and commercial hit and is now considered one of the best PS5 games ever made. Naturally, many people kept their attention on the developers, who announced their next project, simply titled Saros, in February 2025.
While Saros is technically part of a brand-new IP, Housemarque has stated that it’s trying to expand and polish the ideas and mechanics they introduced in Returnal. As a result, this game will bring back the frenetic gameplay and addictive roguelike elements of its predecessor, but it will also feature a brand-new collection of unique weapons, enemies, and bosses. Fortunately for PS5 users, they won’t have to wait too long to experience Saros, as it comes out during the first half of 2026.
Marvel's Wolverine
Insomniac’s Next Big Superhero Project
Everybody knows that Insomniac Games is one of PlayStation’s most important first-party studios, and it has already put out several remarkable PS5 exclusives, like Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart and Marvel's Spider-Man 2. However, after a long development period, the studio’s next big game should finally come out this year, and it will focus on an entirely different Marvel superhero.
Marvel's Wolverine is a visceral and brutal action-adventure game in which players take control of Logan as he fights dangerous enemies (like the Sentinels and Omega Red) across various locales from across the entire globe, including Canada, Japan, and Madripoor. Unlike Spider-Man, Wolverine hasn’t starred in many high-quality solo games, so Marvel's Wolverine will most likely change that unfortunate reality once and for all.
Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet
Naughty Dog’s First New IP In Over 13 Years
Naughty Dog has been somewhat criticized for sticking to the Last of Us IP for the past six years, as it has worked exclusively on sequels and remasters in that zombie game franchise. Fortunately, the studio revealed its next big project, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, at The Game Awards 2024, and it already looks like nothing else it has made before.
Every Xbox Game On The PlayStation 5
Luckily, PS5 owners can enjoy these stellar Xbox games without having to buy a second console!
Not much is known about Intergalactic yet, and it most likely won’t come out until 2027/2028, but just knowing that Naughty Dog is working on a sci-fi space opera wherein a cool-looking protagonist wields a laser sword against giant robots is nothing short of exciting. Of course, the studio still needs to reveal some actual gameplay, but if everything goes well, Intergalactic might end up being one of the best video games of the current generation and an instant system-seller for the PS5.
Physint
Hideo Kojima Is Going Back To His Roots With Sony's Help
Shortly after he was let go from Konami, visionary game developer Hideo Kojima forged a close relationship with PlayStation, which led to the creation of the excellent Death Stranding series. However, those two games are admittedly quite unconventional, and many fans of Kojima's work just wanted to play something more akin to the Metal Gear franchise. Fortunately for them, their wish will become a reality very soon.
Kojima has repeatedly described his next big project, Physint, as an “action-espionage” video game, meaning that it’s most likely going to be a spiritual successor to Metal Gear. Not much is known about it yet, but the key visual that Kojima revealed a few months ago made it look really promising. Unfortunately, Physint is still a few years away, which is why it’s unclear if it’ll come out on PS5 or on the next PlayStation console, but this will likely be one of the final exclusives released on this current-gen system.
God of War Trilogy Remake
Giving The Classic Greek Saga A New Coat Of Paint
The God of War franchise has been really thriving since the start of the recent Norse duology, but some fans are nostalgic for the classic games set in Greece and have hoped that Sony and Santa Monica Studio would port them over to the PS5. However, they got something even better, because God of War Trilogy Remake was revealed during the latest State of Play broadcast.
Unfortunately, it’s impossible to know what these remakes will change and/or modernize, as they haven’t shown any gameplay yet because they’re still very early in their development. There’s a huge silver lining, however, and it's the fact that T.C. Carson is coming back to reprise his role as Kratos. At the end of the day, the first three God of War games are mainstays of the hack-and-slash genre, so it’s great to know that a brand-new generation of gamers will be able to experience them on modern hardware.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
Arc System Works + Marvel Is A Match Made In Heaven
Arc System Works might be the best fighting game developer out there, as it has been responsible for an array of excellent 2.5D masterpieces, from original IPs (like Guilty Gear Strive) to games based on existing IPs (like Dragon Ball FighterZ). For its next project, Arc System Works is teaming up with Sony Interactive and Marvel to make Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, a 4v4 fighter featuring classic comic book superheroes.
25 Best M Rated PS5 Games, Ranked
The PlayStation 5 holds some incredible titles, and some of the very best are M-rated, providing players with violent and vulgar opportunities.
Fighting game fans are obviously quite excited about Marvel Tokon, since not only is it being made by one of the most beloved studios in the industry, but also because it seems like it’ll carry on the spirit of the Marvel vs. Capcom series. This game boasts stunning animation, a technical but satisfying combat system, and a cast of unique Marvel characters (both iconic and obscure), like Spider-Man, Captain America, Doctor Doom, Ghost Rider, Wolverine, Magik, Danger, and more. Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls comes out in August 2026, and it will also be available on PC.
Horizon Hunters Gathering
One Of Two Co-Op Horizon Games Currently In Development
Sony has been trying to expand the Horizon IP for many years, which is why there are now two different co-op games set in this universe in development: the mobile-only Horizon Steel Frontiers and the PS5 and PC exclusive Horizon Hunters Gathering. In this upcoming title, up to three players can join forces to hunt dangerous machines in two different game modes, and it looks really promising.
The most striking aspect of Horizon Hunters Gathering is its brand-new art style, which is much more colorful and cartoony than the hyperrealistic graphics present in previous Horizon games. While some fans of the series are not too happy with the idea of a multiplayer-only experience, it has been confirmed that Hunters Gathering will feature a narrative-heavy campaign that will introduce new mysteries and characters (not to mention that it’ll also feature classic characters, like Aloy or Erend), so hopefully this game will tide them over while they wait for Horizon 3.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
The Sequel To One Of The Most Distinct Games On The PS5 Catalog
Indie studio Ember Lab released Kena: Bridge of Spirits back in 2021, an action-adventure title reminiscent of a 3D Zelda game that was praised for its stunning, movie-quality animation while also being criticized for its less-than-stellar gameplay. Now, the same studio is working on a direct sequel that will seek to both improve and expand on the ideas introduced in the first game.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora will be bigger and better than Bridge of Spirits, with graphics that look even more appealing, a more mature protagonist, deeper combat, and an ambitious open-world map. The PS5 needs more video games with cartoony art styles, and it seems Kena: Scars of Kosmora will deliver on that front (although it’s worth pointing out that it will release on PC as well).

The PlayStation 5's library continues to grow, but even as more new games come out, some PS5 titles are worth returning to for a second playthrough.
