Divine Shards are an item that you can use in Unicorn Overlord to purchase powerful materials, or even to recruit new members from neighboring nations to join your cause. There are a multitude of ways that you can pick up this item around the overworld, making it a relatively easy item to procure.

How to Get Divine Shards in Unicorn Overlord
In the world of Unicorn Overlord, there are three possible methods you can use to pick up some Divine Shards. This section will go over each one, and how it can be done.
Locate in the Overworld
The easiest method for picking up some Divine Shards is by searching through the sparkling spots in the overworld. Whenever your team and Alain aren't in battle, you can traverse through each area that you've conquered, and you'll notice small sparkling spots on the ground. When you hover over them, a treasure chest symbol will appear. It isn't guaranteed that you'll get a Divine Shard, but there's still a decent chance you'll get one.
Mine in Quarries
Mining is another way you can get yourself some Divine Shards whenever you visit a Quarry. However, this strategy will come later in the game, as the first Quarry you'll have access to will be the Cornia Quarry, found in the southern region of Cornia. Keep in mind that when you are mining, you aren't guaranteed to get Divine Shards, so this method will most likely be the most time-consuming.
Complete Side Quests
The last method you can use to get Divine Shards is by completing side quests. Not all side quests will provide you with Divine Shards, but it is still a possibility, and they will usually give you a decent amount upon completion. You can begin side quests by visiting new locations in the overworld. You can travel north, south, east, or west until you stumble on a cutscene for a side quest. A few side quests you can do early-on that will give you Divine Shards include The Winged Knight, and The Unyielding Shield. However, in The Winged Knight, you'll only receive 15 Divine Shards if you choose to execute Madrin instead of letting him free.
How to Use Divine Shards in Unicorn Overlord
Once you've got yourself some Divine Shards in your inventory, there are a few ways you can utilize the item. First of all, you can complete An Angel's Request, which is an overworld quest that allows you to spend 30 Divine Shards to add Ochyls to your team, where he can join in on some battles as a team member.
After Ochyls joins your team, he will be your go-to source for spending your Divine Shards. He is the Divine Shard Exchange vendor, where you can purchase items such as Dew of Vitality, Dew of Skill, Templar's Sword, and much more. You can find Ochyls's Divine Shard Exchange in Rondmort Church, found south of the Walled City of Barbatimo.
