Who is Amalia in Unicorn Overlord?
First appearing as players make their way to Drakengard in the hopes of securing the help of Prince Gilbert, the tall and strong presence that is Amalia will appear, fully interested in being part of the festivities at the Coliseum the area is known for. However, due to the war, it is closed down, and she needs a fight to keep herself busy.
Thus, Amalia chooses to assist Prince Alain and the Liberation Army to push back the Zenorian Empire, so that she can realize her dream of fighting in the Coliseum. After the battle, the Coliseum is reopened, but the journey to recruit Amalia has only just begun, unlike many of the other characters that join up along the way.
How to Recruit Amalia in Unicorn Overlord
It should be no surprise to learn that adding this unique Dreadnought to your army involves the Coliseum and plenty of fighting. The only way to get Amalia to join the Liberation Army is to finish every single challenge in the Baumratte Coliseum, going from the lowest ranks all the way to the top spot, where Amalia is waiting with her level 40 units.
Obviously, before even getting to Amalia, there are a ton of other challenging bouts to overcome, so players must prepare themselves and make sure their units are at the required level. There is no point in attempting to rise up the ranks to face Amalia if you are not level 40 and above, as tempting as it looks.
Progress the story, engage in side quests, keep fighting the good war, and level up your units. Be sure to promote them as well to give yourself the best chance to rise up the ranks. Before starting the fight against Amalia, look at her team composition.
Tips For Defeating Amalia
With a combination of melee and quick-moving enemies at the frontline and supported by a magic user at the back, Amalia is well-protected, and she will likely be the biggest source of damage.
It is thus crucial to disable the units in front as soon as possible, with a great combination being the freezing status and row attacks by the more advanced classes. Make sure your units are high in Initiative and Evasion, and it is key to remember that victory doesn't require actually defeating the enemy, just hurting them more is enough to win.
