With so many horse girls to choose from in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, it can be hard to pick just one to focus on for career mode. Matikanefukukitaru is one of the most unique horses in Umamusume, but her stat spread and skill line up make her one of the easiest girls to train.

Matikanefukukitaru is a Late Surger that specializes in Medium and Long races on Turf tracks, which separates her from the sea of Pace Chasers and Front Runners currently on the Umamusume roster. There are other horses that share the same archetype as her, but her stat growth bonuses and interesting skills give her a unique playstyle. Even if you can't pronounce her name, this Matikanefukukitaru build will help you win more races in career mode and dominate PVP in Team Trials.

Best Stats for Matikanefukukitaru

Umamusume Matikanefukukitaru Stats

Matikanefukukitaru is primarily a Late Surger and she runs the longest distances in the game, so Speed and Stamina are of equal importance. You should ideally have 900-1000 of each to comfortably clear her hardest career mode races, and getting Speed above 1000 is a good idea for Team Trials.

Since she has to pass every other runner in the back half of the race, Power is her next most important stat. Aim for 700-800 Power to ensure that Matikanefukukitaru can navigate through the crowd and take corners without losing too much energy. You can get away with a little bit lower if you compensate with some Wit and skills, but you still shouldn't go anywhere below 700 Power with Matikanefukukitaru.

Wit and Guts are her least important stats, but you should still invest at least a little bit of training time for Wit since skills are incredibly important for Late Surgers. 400 Wit is a safe threshold, but you can go even higher depending on your Support Card deck and Sparks if you want to go with a skill-heavy build for Matikanefukukitaru. You can get away with 300-350 Guts, though.

Matikanefukukitaru has a 20% growth rate bonus for Stamina and a 10% growth rate bonus for Power, so you should have a super easy time training those stats. Paired with some strong Support Cards and friendship training, Matikanefukukitaru's Stamina requirements can be taken care of much faster than other racers, and you won't have to waste as many days on Power training, either.

Best Support Cards for Matikanefukukitaru

Umamusume Kitasan Black Banner (1)

The best Support Card deck for Matikanefukukitaru includes three Speed cards, two Stamina cards, and a Wit/Power card in the last slot. You can swap things around a bit depending on which SSR Support Cards you have in your collection, but the general structure should still remain the same.

These are some of the strongest Support Cards you can use with Matikanefukukitaru in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.

  • Kitasan Black (Speed)
  • Sweep Tosho (Speed)
  • Nishino Flower (Speed)
  • Tokai Teio (Speed)
  • Eishin Flash (Speed)
  • Super Creek (Stamina)
  • Satono Diamond (Stamina)
  • Mayano Top Gun (Stamina)
  • Vodka (Power)
  • Agnes Digital (Power)
  • Matikanetannhauser (Guts)
  • Grass Wonder (Guts)
  • Fine Motion (Wit)
  • Nice Nature (Wit)
  • Agnes Tachyon (Wit)
  • Marvelous Sunday (Wit)
  • Tazuna Hayakawa (Pal)

As a Late Surger (or a Pace Chaser if you want to go that route) with long races to run, Matikanefukukitaru needs a lot of help training Speed and Stamina. Thankfully, there are plenty of SSR and SR options to choose from for those stats. Kitasan Black and Tokai Teio are two excellent SSR Speed options for Matikanefukukitaru, and Super Creek and Satono Diamond are perfect Stamina fits. Sweep Tosho a nd Mayano Top Gun are great SR replacements for each stat as well, especially if you've uncapped them with duplicates.

Vodka and Fine Motion are the best choices for Power and Wit, respectively, but you can get away with other Support Cards like Agnes Digital or Agnes Tachyon if you need SR options. You can also use Tazuna Hayakawa as a Pal Support Card to help with energy, so you can spend more time training and less time resting.
