Grass Wonder may not seem very exciting next to the other horse girls in Umamusume: Pretty Derby, but she has a surprisingly strong set of aptitudes and stats that make her a great fit for career runs or PVP Team Trials. Grass Wonder is a versatile racer that can fit basically anywhere on your Umamusume roster, so she's great for filling in gaps for Team Trials in particular.
Grass Wonder is primarily a Pace Chaser/Late Surger who specializes in Mile/Long races. Those are very different play styles, so your Grass Wonder build can end up radically different from someone else's. She also has a B aptitude for Medium races that can easily be improved via Legacy bonuses, so she can pretty much do anything besides Sprint/Dirt races. These are the best stats, Support Cards, and skills for Grass Wonder in Umamusume: Pretty Derby.
Umamusume: Pretty Derby - Haru Urara Build and Stats Guide
Haru Urara is one of the most popular Umamusume characters, and she's a solid late-race runner that can pull off some exciting victories.
Grass Wonder Stats and Training Priority
Regardless of your chosen racing style for Grass Wonder, her most important stat is Speed. She has a 20% growth rate bonus for Speed that makes training go by much faster, so you shouldn't have any problems reaching 1000 Speed with Grass Wonder. With the right Support Cards, you can easily hit the 1200 Speed cap as well.
Grass Wonder doesn't have any Long races other than the Arima Kinen in her career, so you don't need to prioritize Stamina when you're first starting out. You'll still need quite a bit of Stamina to win the Arima Kinen, however, so shoot for 600 Stamina and some energy recovery skills to make sure Grass Wonder can hold her own on Long tracks. It's better to train her other stats higher and burn some Alarm Clocks to get past the Arima Kinen if it comes to that.
Power is the second most important stat for Grass Wonder as both a Pace Chaser and a Late Surger. It helps her break out of the pack and navigate around other racers more easily, both of which are crucial feats for Grass Wonder's racing styles. Even with max Speed, she won't be able to take the lead if she's blocked by another Umamusume. As such, you should aim for 600 Power with Grass Wonder to be safe. Her 10% growth rate bonus to Power will help you reach that milestone.
You can get away with slightly less Power if you unlock some navigation skills, but 600 is the stat threshold for three-star Sparks. It's better to have at least 600 Power so you have a chance of a great Spark roll at the end of Grass Wonder's career.
Wit should be your next priority for Grass Wonder, but it doesn't need to be as high as Speed or Power. 500-600 Wit is the sweet spot for Grass Wonder, but Pace Chasers and Late Surgers rely heavily on skills, so you can train Wit even higher if necessary, especially if you want to recover some energy without spending a full turn resting.
Guts can be safely ignored with Grass Wonder for the most part. As long as you have roughly 400 Guts, you'll be fine. Guts helps with the final spurt of a race, but Grass Wonder's other stats will be so high by the end of her career that she won't need to dip into her Guts reserves to win.
Best Support Cards for Grass Wonder
The best Support Card deck for Grass Wonder includes three Speed cards and then a mixture of Stamina, Power, and Wit cards (ideally one of each). Her unique skill, Focused Mind, increases her velocity when she passes another runner toward the back on the final straight. It's more important for her Late Surger style, but it's also a safety net for her Pace Chaser style if she falls behind other runners.
The best skills for Grass Wonder give her late-race speed boosts since they synergize well with her unique talents, so bring Support Cards that provide skill hints for those. Debuffs and energy recovery skills are also important so that Grass Wonder can keep other racers in check while also ensuring she has enough stamina for the final stretch. Grass Wonder works well in all sorts of roles, so you can easily come up with other builds for her once you get familiar with her play style.
