Anticipation for the next generation of consoles is mounting with rumors about specifications and games circulating. While many are trying to judge whether the Xbox Series X or PlayStation 5 is the better consoles, games like UFC 4 appear to be coming to both consoles. Despite rumors of the power of the consoles, it seems that the leaked upcoming title will not discriminate between the two upon release.

The PlayStation and Xbox consoles have been very successful and naturally, fans have favored manufacturers that they are loyal to. While the gaming industry does use exclusives to sway consumers, a leak has revealed that the new UFC fighting game will continue the series on both next-generation consoles. This will please fans of the franchise, although the leak has sparked some fan requests for nostalgic favorites from the fighting-game genre.

The leak by Reddit user BurnerIdk stated that UFC 4 will come to both the Xbox Series X and Playstation 5 at launch, despite an original typo that suggested the Xbox One. They also revealed that the next UFC game will focus on content after previous iterations of the series focused on improving aesthetic qualities. While this sounds like promising news for fans, some players responded to this news by calling for another Fight Night title. While Fight Night is often considered to be one of the best boxing game franchises ever, it seems the publisher of the game, Electronic Arts, is reluctant to make another title. Either way, it seems that some fans are excited to have another UFC game on the next generation of consoles.

The last UFC title, UFC 3, received a mixed reaction and although there were positives, there were improvements needed for the career mode and ground fighting. These improvements look set to be delivered if this leak is correct as new content will likely mean a deeper career mode and a wider array of movements. Despite not being every player's favorite fighting game, it seems that the UFC series has plenty of ideas on how to stay relevant in the next generation.

While UFC 3 didn't land exactly as was intended, this leak provides hope that the series will hit its full potential in its fourth installment. It will be interesting to see if this leak comes to fruition and whether the next generation consoles will battle over exclusive content for the game, or if it will exist on both platforms harmoniously.

UFC 4 is rumored to be in development for PS5 and Xbox Series X.
