Kingdom Hearts fans are finding the fact that Twitter is rebranding to "X" hilarious, and are making jokes about it on the social media platform. The rebrand is the latest change to the website brought in by CTO Elon Musk. Once the announcement was made, however, many users were quick to voice how much they adore the iconic Twitter brand, and how changing it to just the letter "X" may be a bad move on Musk's part.

However, Kingdom Hearts fans are having one last hurrah before Twitter changes as the letter "X" is a prominent symbol in Square Enix's rather lengthy RPG series. It appears in two ways, one being the use of the Greek letter "chi" which is represented as an X at times by the series and its fans. "Chi" and "X" is used in the name of the old Kingdom Hearts mobile game throughout all of its own rebranding, as well as in the name of the "X-blade." On top of that, "X" is commonly used in the anagram names of the series' Nobodies as the Recusant's Sigil.

As a result, fans are making plenty of memes and references to Kingdom Hearts on Tweets announcing the rebrand. In one case, one Twitter user going by @mai_beloved went as far as to draw the Twitter bird and the "X" logo on the bodies of Sora and Roxas, joking that the new X platform will be Twitter's Nobody. Naturally, thanks to the great art by @mai_beloved, this is getting tons of laughs out of KH players on the site.

Another Kingdom Hearts fan, Twitter user @caehum, humors over the use of the "X" in another way. In Kingdom Hearts: Dream Drop Distance, an "X" was put on Sora's shirt by Organization 13 as the Recusant's Sigil, and was used to track him. The KH fan uses this symbol to imply that the use of the Sigil means that a new Keyblade War is coming in the future, making other players ask where they can sign up to be members of the Organization.

In between the number of people expressing how much they love or dislike the new "X" branding, there's at least a number of Kingdom Hearts fans making sure to have their fun in the final days of what is Twitter as users know it. Arguably, things haven't been smooth on the social media platform for a while, and some users have been suspended for strange reasons, such as a Pokemon fan being suspended for posting their collection. In the end, the "X" rebranding is just one more strange step, and may mark the end of Twitter's history.

Kingdom Hearts 4 is currently in development.
