The Russian Twitch streamer Mira has been banned from the popular live-streaming platform. The official Twitter account for Streamer Bans posted a tweet on December 19 sharing the news that the streamer's account had been banned on Twitch.This current ban is not the first time Mira has been banned from Twitch. According to Streamer Bans, this is the fifth time the streamer has had a ban put on her account, with the longest ban lasting a total of four days. Mira was banned from Twitch twice in 2021, and this current ban makes the third time just this year that her account has been hit with a ban on the platform. It's not been the easiest year for Mira. Earlier this year she had to deal with a scary situation involving an alleged stalker coming to her home.RELATED: Asmongold Thinks Nadia Should Be Permanently Banned from Twitch So far there has not been any specific reason given as to why Mira has been banned from Twitch this time around. A previous ban was the result of the streamer breaking Twitch community guidelines when it came to the subject of nudity. Mira also suggested in a tweet earlier this year that Twitch banned her because she was Russian.

Many streamers in the past have voiced their distaste for Twitch's strict and sometimes seemingly random account bans. Recently, fellow streamer Amouranth even voiced her opinion on Twitch 's ban policies. Mira also tweeted on December 19, claiming that Twitch is reinforcing misogyny on the streaming platform by shaming women's bodies while allowing men to freely show their bodies on camera. The tweet claims that Twitch is enacting a double standard when it comes to the banning of female Twitch streamers showing parts of their clothed bodies compared to male Twitch streamers. Within the last few years Twitch has updated their nudity policy in regard to both male and female streamers.

Hopefully soon there will be a clearer reasoning as to why Mira has been banned again. Until then, Twitch will likely continue to be a hot topic within the gaming news cycle with new controversies coming to light. Whether it's news of banning a streamer or controversial gambling streams, the world of Twitch can be rife with new drama. Either way, there is no doubt Twitch takes its community guidelines incredibly serious. Although this can be a frustrating hurtle for many streamers, there are currently no signs of the livestreaming platform going easy on guidelines any time soon.
