Toyotaro just released an amazing illustration featuring Goku and Vegeta in forms introduced in Dragon Ball Super. Dragon Ball fans were excited about this year's celebrations, but most of them have fallen below expectations so far.

Dragon Ball is still dropping content for the franchise's 40th anniversary. Additionally, Dragon Ball Super is celebrating its 10th anniversary while the manga is on hiatus.

Toyotaro Drops New Illustration of Vegeta and Goku

As part of the Dragon Ball Legends' 7th anniversary, Toyotaro drew an illustration of Ultra Instinct Goku and Blue Evolved Vegeta, transformations introduced in Dragon Ball Super. While this is not part of the DBS anniversary celebrations, it feeds the eagerness of fans for news. Fans of DB Legends also seemed disappointed with the game's anniversary content, with most describing the new illustration as the highlight of the celebration.

What Dragon Ball Super fans truly wanted as part of the 10th anniversary celebrations was the announcement of a return date for the manga series. The series has been on hiatus since March 2024, with a brief return in February 2025. Some were also waiting for news on a potential Dragon Ball Super Season 2, which could still be announced at some point later this year.

Is The Dragon Ball Super Manga Canceled?

Since V-JUMP did not announce a new chapter for June, when the series will complete 10 years, many fans began to wonder if the Dragon Ball Super manga would be canceled. Although no return date has been announced, Toyotaro recently gave an interview about the series, in which he teased that he is preparing the Black Frieza Arc. In the interview, it's clear that Toyotaro has plans for the series and is probably working on it despite the long break.

For now, it seems that Dragon Ball Super is not canceled. The reason why the hiatus has been extended so much is still a mystery, but it may be related to the legal dispute over the Dragon Ball franchise rights, reportedly involving Shueisha (the Dragon Ball publisher) and Capsule Corporation Japan (led by Akio Iyoku). Since V-JUMP is still dropping Dragon Ball-related content, Shueisha probably wants the series to continue.

Dragon Ball Super is available to stream on Crunchyroll, Hulu and other streaming services.
