The Roblox title Tower Defense Simulator is knee-deep in festive fun thanks to the arrival of the new Frost Invasion update. Patch 1.46.0 comes with a sleigh full of new content for players to dive head-first into and reap the plentiful rewards. In tandem with Roblox's holiday-themed content, the TDS devs have also made small game changes, including freeze stick damage that has been properly scaled with time, and a fix for the Grenadier that now properly plays audio and muzzle flash on fire.

Created by Paradoxum Games and released in 2019 on Roblox, Tower Defense Simulator involves players teaming up to battle enemy waves on a specific map. Cash gained from victories allows players to purchase new towers or upgrade existing structures, and the more battles players indulge in, the more Coins or Gems they receive to buy new emotes and skins. Several live-service titles are currently well underway with festive content, including Roblox’s Fisch and the popular Santa and Elf quest.

The patch notes for update 1.46.0 outline the Frost Invasion event and the story behind it, explaining that it’s set in the Outpost 32 research facility map with Professor V. After a malfunction occurred during a routine portal test, a tear was opened to the Frost Dimension and players need to defeat the waves of Frost Invaders coming through. Two new event towers, the Elementalist Tower and the Snowballer Tower, have been unlocked, but the former can only be obtained by beating the invasion on hard mode. The Roblox title joins some of the best games with tower defense mechanics, and fans can now indulge TDS' already thrilling gameplay within a winter aesthetic.

The update also welcomes a new battle pass full of rewards for both free and premium players, including a Santa Commander, Double Chunk Chocolate Cookie Emote, and a Dark Frost Electroshocker. The strategy sub-genre has increased in popularity over the years, so much so that the new The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom channeled some of the best facets of tower defense games, and TDS players are certainly being spoiled this year with seasonal perks.

The Frost Invasion has been received well so far, with some Twitter users naming it an “epic event.” Other fans shared TDS’ annual winter events have become a festive tradition, and some praised Frost Invasion’s difficulty as well. Additionally, players can take advantage of Tower Defense Simulator’s December 2024 codes in Roblox, which include Freezer and Cowboy skins, Pumpkin Crates, and plenty of free Gems.
