The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom had a lot of brand-new enemies blended in with the enemies from Breath of the Wild. The Depths is a great place to meet up with some of these new critters to fight, including Soldier Constructs and Gloom Hands.
One of the newer things to battle and get pieces of is a Frox, a massive rock-like frog that lives in the underground Depths underneath Hyrule. Players can find around 30 of these critters around the map. Considering that these monsters are massive and pretty scary-looking, players might want to know how to defeat them.
Frox Locations in TotK
In order to battle one of these massive Tears of the Kingdom frogs, players will head down one of the many Chasms in Hyrule to head down into the Depths. There are around 27 of these rocky Frox on the map, so players will need to head to one of these 27 locations to find one.
There are three different types of Frox: a Frox, an Obsidian Frox, and a Blue-White Frox. Each will drop different types of horns but can also drop Frox Fangs, Frox Nails, Frox Guts, both Large and regular Zonaite, and Crystallized Charges. So these are worth hunting down to upgrade weapons and armor, get Zonaite, and more.
How to Beat Frox in Tears of the Kingdom
In spite of how these massive monsters look, they are pretty easy to take down. Players will want to farm a bunch of arrows in Tears of the Kingdom as well as Dazzlefruit; many of the critters that live under the ground don't love bright lights, and the Dazzlefruit can blind them for long enough to take them out. Whether players are fighting a Blue-White, Obsidian, or regular Frox, they are all defeated the same way.
First, players will want to aim an arrow with a Dazzlefruit at their facial area, preferably at the Frox's eye.
Once the Frox has been dazzled, run around the back of the monster and climb up its tail. On its back, players can find a bunch of Zonaite ore; Link will need to smash all the rocks on their backs.
Unfortunately, players won't have time to smash all the rocks on its back the first time. After the Frox recovers from the Dazzlefruit, it will do one of two things: throw Link directly up into the air and try to catch him in its mouth, or throw Link to one side. If the Frox throws Link to one side, he will need to hit the Frox in the face with another Dazzlefruit and climb its tail again. Players will likely want a Depths Armor Set to protect Link from Gloom puddles if this happens.
If the Frox throws Link right up into the air, he can just use his TotK paraglider and bullet time to hit the Frox once again with the Dazzlefruit and land on its back again. Take out the rest of the rocks on its back, then it will be dead.
