Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 1+2 is a combined remaster of the first two entries in this legendary skating franchise. Released in 2020, the game received lots of praise for having the same feel as the original two games while introducing modernized graphics.

While the game does a great job of replicating everything from levels to tricks from the original titles, it also adds plenty of its own flair to the mix. When it comes to flip specials, players can enjoy a lot of returning tricks and a few new ones that are specific to new characters in the game.

17 Hospital Flip

Elissa Streamer's special flip trick is the Hospital Flip. This trick involves her flipping her board by kicking the back of the board down with her back foot.

It's pretty neat, but it's far from the most visually impressive trick in the game. There are more exciting ones to come.

16 Nollie Flip Underflip

Rodney Mullen's special flip trick is the Nollie Flip Underflip. This trick sees Mulen come off of his board, kick the board on one side with both feet to flip it horizontally, then stabilize the board before landing.

Its a fun one that's pretty easy to land, and is better appreciated when rewatched at a slower framerate.

15 Half Flip Casper

Geoff Rowley's Half Flip Casper special flip is more complicated than it looks. Rowley hits his board on both opposite ends of his board to flip it, then brings his feet together to re-situate the board before landing.

It's one of the most difficult tricks to pull off in real life, and it's pretty neat to see in THPS 1+2 as well.

14 Kickflip So Good

The Kickflip So Good is Tyshawn Jones' special flip trick. To pull it off, he quickly flips his board upon jumping off a ramp, then lifts his legs to let the board spin before landing on it right-side-up again.

It gives Jones a bit of extra airtime, at least visually. It's one of the more distinctive-looking special flip tricks in the game.

13 360 Double Flip

360 Double Flip Specials

Shane O'Neill's special flip trick is the 360 Double Flip, which, as the name implied, sees O'Neill flip his board not once but twice while it spins around in a perfect 360-degree arc.

When performed, O'Neill's board turns into a blur, but it's still cool to see such a simple-yet-tough trick performed in-game.

12 540 Flip

Jamie Thomas' special flip trick is the 540 flip. For this signature move, he flips his board over once while the board spins in place one and a half times around.

It's similar to the 360 double flip described above, but with one less flip and a one-half increase in spin amount.

11 Hardflip Lateflip

Andrew Reynolds' Hardflip Lateflip is an impressive signature flip trick. He flips his board vertically, and almost catches it mid-air. He then flips it in the opposite direction before landing.

It's a trick only the brave would ever attempt in real life. Few would dare to risk the potentially disastrous consequences in the lower torso region.

10 Hardflip Crail

Riley Hawk's special flip trick, the Hardflip Crail, is the first trick on this list that involves manipulating the board with one's hand.

Hawk will flip the board vertically, reach down to grab the front of the board as it flips, then set it back in place by hand before landing.

9 Full Cab Flip

The Full Cab Flip is Letica Bufoni's signature flip trick. To perform it, Befoni spins her whole body in place after flipping her board just slightly. She controls the board with her foot to follow her spin in mid-air, then resets before landing.

It's a very cool spin-and-flip combination, and one of the few tricks that isn't too fast to comprehend when performed.

8 Quad Heelflip

Andrew Reynolds has another great flip trick up his sleeve, the Quad Heelflip. As the name suggests, it's a heelflip that Reynolds lets flip not once, not twice, not three times, but four times total before landing.

It works especially well when the jump is very high, as there's more time to land this somewhat lengthy sequence.
