Titan Quest 2 is full of smaller side quests players can complete for some bonus XP and some rare gear to make their character better in preparation for the strong bosses you'll face, such as the Gryphon. After finishing up the prologue, players will wash up on the island of Pyrgos, which is a good bit bigger than the starting island.

After getting off the beach, players will find Itys, who is worried about the other villagers who were taken as prisoners. Here's where to find the prisoners, along with how to free them from their cells to finish the quest.

Where to Find the Prisoners in Pyrgos Outskirts (Cages in the Dark) in Titan Quest 2

The Path from the Village to Fiend's Hollow

Starting from the village where you accepted the quest, follow the path off to the west. It wraps around and starts heading north, with the entrance to Fiend's Hollow being directly ahead. This cave is filled with Ichthian enemies, with each group of smaller ones being led by a leader who is just slightly stronger, but overall, there are no strong enemies in the cave to worry about, especially going in alone.

Where Are the Prisoners in Fiend's Hollow

The Location of the First Set of Prisoners on the Map

There are three cages in the cave, though the prisoners will only be in two of them. Upon entering the cave, follow the wall to the left to find the first cage of prisoners. Be sure to kill all the nearby enemies and open the door afterwards for the prisoners to escape outside.

The Other Group of Prisoners on the Map

The next group of prisoners is found by following the right side of the wall back from the entrance. A path will open up leading to the right, and keep following it as it slopes down to find the second cage filled with prisoners. There is a third cage in the very northern part of the cave, though there are no prisoners inside.

Rewards for Cages in the Dark in Titan Quest 2

The Player Completing Cages in the Dark

After freeing the prisoners, you'll want to return to the village and talk to Timandra, who will have the scroll icon over her head. The rewards for completing the quest are:

  • 4,881 XP
  • 244 Gold

Unlike other side quests like collecting the coins found on the Desolate Beach, you won't get a rare item for this quest, but it's still worth completing the help you level up and get more skill points. While no part of the Cages in the Dark quest, there is the Mysterious Door in the cave, which can be opened by completing the puzzle of the cave to start another side quest.
