Borderlands 2 is particularly well-known for its array of zany characters, memorable quests, and super-satisfying weapons. This extends to the epic DLC Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon's Keep, which stars the quirky anarchist Tina and decorates the BL foundation with amusing fantasy tropes and satire.
Dragon Keep saw such positive reception, that 2k and Gearbox have since re-released the pack as stand-alone content — simultaneously serving as a bridge to the anticipated Tiny Tina's Wonderlands. This content, known as One-Shot Adventure, spruces up the experience and adds some features and items to Dragon Keep. This is in addition to the already appealing heap of weapons exclusively in the DLC. While there are a number of great guns to pick when dungeon crawling and dragon-slaying, which are the best?
8 Ogre
While it took a small dip in potency from the first Borderlands, this assault rifle from Torgue is a true beast, and makes for a great choice for spamming bosses and larger foes. Aiming at these larger targets ensures players can get the most out of one of its perks — which yields a 2x splash damage bonus.
Not only this, but the gun sporadically bumps up the fire rate and reload speed for short durations, also causing its projectiles to ricochet when shot. Its explosive damage amps up its already great DPS, making for an offensive powerhouse. The weapon can be found as a rare drop from Warlord Slog in Murderlin's Temple.
7 Florentine
This distinct SMG from Maliwan can be deceptively useful, with its combined elemental effects of shock projectiles and bonus slag damage. This can swiftly wear down various mobs, particularly those laced with shields.
Added to this is the large nature of the projectiles, which deals bonus splash damage equivalent to 50% of the inflicted damage. Couple this with the quick-firing, spamming nature of the SMG, and the Florentine is a DPS force of nature. It's a great secondary weapon with its slagging abilities, and one that can do a little extra in the heat of battle. Players can secure one by trading with the Seraph Vendor in Flamerock Refuge.
6 Orc
Bandit-made weaponry is often known for being cheaply thrown together; and rather spotty in combat. However, the Orc largely smashes through this stereotype with its wild damage output and its slew of perks. Not only is it capable of coming in incendiary, shock, corrosive, or slag form, but also potentially brings temporary boosts to fire rate or extra shot chances (50% for both), a 17% damage boost, 2x reload speed, or an extra pellet per shot. The Orc is obtained from the missions Magic Slaughter (Round 5) in Murderlin's Temple.
These bonuses last just six seconds, but can really make a difference when often cropping up over time. What's really nifty is that these bonuses aren't just triggered by firing, but also the mere act of reloading, swapping weapons, or opening a menu. This means that the boosts can be passed to another weapon. These effects can greatly complement the Mechromancer (via ricochet) as well as the offensive-focused Gunzerker.
5 Omen
This unique shotty from Tediore fires off projectiles in a set, circular pattern of eight on the perimeter and one in the center. This expands and contracts as it moves, giving it an oscillating spread that's useful against different sized foes and distances. Being a Tediore, the gun usefully grants extra damage from the mere act of reloading, exploding while being tossed during this act.
This can compound with the spread pellets (and likely elemental damage), and bring an utter barrage of pain. This really complements the Siren Maya, whose Phaselock can help concentrate this hail of gunfire, and effectively heal allies with Restoration. This is especially helpful in One-Shot Adventure, as the Action Skill is given at level two. The Omen can be obtained from a drop in the Ancient Dragons of Destruction.
4 Swordsplosion
Living up to its emphatic name, the "SWORDSPLOSION!!!" Is a truly twisted shotgun whose traits are befitting of the wild Tiny Tina. At least when disregarding the hazards of self-inflicting damage from close range, this is among the strongest, most effective guns in Dragon Keep. This weapon is obtained from the mission The Sword in The Stoner.
Fittingly, the gun flings projectiles in a sword shape that explodes when striking their target. This in turn spawns three smaller swords with the same behaviors. Provided players can find their mark with this strange, short-ranged weapon, the Swordsplosion is a damage machine, one that handily deletes most standard mobs.
3 Teeth Of Terramorphous
It should be noted that this weapon is the sole inclusion of a non-exclusive Tiny Tina weapon. However, as part of this list's aim is to highlight the One-Shot Adventure, it seemed appropriate to add, as it's been sighted in this standalone content (which reportedly hasn't been the case in the BL2 Tiny Tina DLC). A rare drop in One-Shot Adventure, the Teeth drop from Terramorphous the Invincible in Terramorphous Peak.
This Bandit beast packs tons of power by way of its incendiary damage and multiple rows of sprayed projectiles (two horizontal teeth-like rows of six that rise and collapse). With a wide spread and great damage-over-time, the gun is great with crowd-control and dealing with pesky Rakks or Varkids.
2 Stinger
The aptly-named Stinger from Vladof fires potent bullets that can c ompound their damage by ricocheting about. This ensures players can inflict pain from the accurate (and already reliable) pistol. It also makes it useful indoors, and against foes with various critical areas like Threshers or Loaders.
At least in close quarters, the Stinger is one of the best pistols when it comes to DPS. Its high fire rate, reload speed, and bouncing projectiles cover ample ground and bring quick damage. Find it as a drop from the Ancient Dragons of Destruction.
1 Grog Nozzle
This awesome pistol comes courtesy of Maliwan and the sadistic fan-favorite, Moxxi. Being an always-slag weapon that's sharp and effective, the Nozzle proves a great secondary weapon to use in a pinch—especially with its healing powers. It also inflicts bonus elemental damage for some useful added power.
While it's slow-firing and doesn't do outstanding damage compared to its Moxxi counterpart (the Rubi), its perks elsewhere make it more than worthwhile. This coveted gun is only available during the mission The Beard Makes the Man.
