Any new Marvel Studios movie brings with it a ton of promotional material to help fans get hyped, and Thor: Love and Thunder is no exception. Now, the film has headed over to TikTok to reintroduce part of the film’s cast with the kind of flair they really didn’t have going for them when Ragnarok rocked the MCU.

A lot has changed in the world since Thor's third movie came out in 2017, just like many things have for Chris Hemsworth's character since he first fell in love with Jane Foste. For instance, Thor's trusty PS4 is no longer the coolest Sony console now that the PS5 is out, a pandemic happened, and TikTok has really changed the social media game. Hence, it’s no wonder that Thor: Love and Thunder is heading over to that particular platform embracing the very style it's become known for over the past 2 years.

Restricted to 21 seconds of TikTok goodness, the Thor: Love and Thunder ad campaign has no problems whatsoever transitioning to that brand of content. This is especially due to the extra layer of humor that the franchise got when Taika Waititi took over, with Thor: Love and Thunder trailer’s “Sweet Child o’ Mine” by Guns N' Roses continuing to be the movie’s anthem. It then goes to show off fat Thor getting in prime superhero shape once more, Tessa Thompson's Valkyrie seemingly not enjoying her new duties, a non-buffed Natalie Portman as Jane Foster, and Waititi's own rock guy.

Seeing the wealthy MCU succumb to TikTok's production techniques is quite the treat, although many might wonder why these characters are the ones getting the spotlight. Both Valkyrie and Foster's Mighty Thor are believed to be among the cast members getting huge plot upgrades. However, the same appears rather unlikely for Korg, despite him being Deadpool's sole MCU friend for now.

Also missing here is Christian Bale's Gorr the God Butcher, whose design has been questioned by some fans, even if he does promise to be quite an interesting villain by Marvel standards. Thor: Love and Thunder could be Hemsworth's last MCU movie, though those theories are not necessarily backed by comic book lore that suggests Jane Foster could also be saying her definitive goodbyes.

Thor, alongside Doctor Strange, could also be lined up for similar roles as the ones held by Iron Man and Captain America during the Infinity Saga, a theory that’s been fueled to a great degree by Disney and Marvel Studios' need to retain ties to the MCU's most successful era.

Thor: Love and Thunder will premiere in theaters on July 8, 2022.
