In This War of Mine, people will have to stay alive in a time when crucial commodities, like food, are scarce. Players will spend their day scavenging necessities, managing their inventory, and, in a desperate time, stealing or killing. Not only must they collect items to stay alive, but some characters in the game will also suffer from addictions. One of the available addictions is smoking, and failure to fulfill this need may result in a mood penalty. Here's how to avoid that debuff.

How To Smoke In This War Of Mine

To smoke in This War of Mine, players simply have to own cigarettes in their inventory. A character with addiction will automatically smoke a specific number of cigarettes a day, so there’s no button to manually perform this action.

In the game, there are three types of cigarettes: Roll-Up Cigarettes, Cigarettes, and Quality Roll-Ups (sorted from worst to best). This item can be obtained from scavenging, trading, or even crafting.

How To Craft Cigarettes In This War Of Mine

To craft cigarettes in This War of Mine, players have to build a Herbal Workshop first. Then, for Quality Roll-Up to be available, the workshop has to be upgraded to Improved Herbal Workshop.

This item is always made in batches of four, and here’s what each cigarette needs:

The better the quality of the cigarettes, the more items players can trade them for. Their price will also increase massively during shortages (albeit randomly). Therefore, players should save their cigarettes and materials for that period of time. A shortage will be announced through the radio, so owning this electronic device is crucial for this task.

To get the most value for cigarettes, players should speak to Bojan in the Military Outpost. The soldier will give valuable items for this commodity, like the Assault Rifle. Bringing cigarettes Katia to negotiate to trade is also a grand idea since, Katia has the best trading skill among the available This War of Mine characters.
