Stealing cars in Thief Simulator is a unique challenge. Unlike the Grand Theft Auto games, a lot of planning goes into each vehicle heist - cameras, alarms, and even regular civilians must be avoided at all costs, or players will be tazered and sent back to a checkpoint. This isn't Dishonored, Thief Simulator's protagonist has no swords or guns to fight his way out.

The risk of being electrocuted is at an all-time high in the game's second neighborhood, Richie Rich Street. As the name implies, the people living here have money to burn - their security systems and extravagant decorations make that extremely clear. The story has players stealing some cars from this street, the Vulcan Spectre among them - the first of the game's 'smart' vehicles, and one that can be sold for $2000. Successfully stealing it will also reward players with the 'Car Enthusiast 4' trophy / achievement.

Where is the Vulcan Spectre?

Thief Simulator 205 Richie Rich Street

Safely tucked away inside the well-guarded house number 205, players won't have an easy time stealing the Vulcan Spectre. Its garage is on its far-right side, and while cutting through a window won't set off any alarms, there are several cameras pointed at the gates and even inside the house.

Like the car heists before it, players need to prepare carefully. Mark the security guard throughout the day to learn his routes, mark the cameras to know their blind spots, and consider a few 'mad dashes' through the house after making a checkpoint to get an idea of its layout. Beyond the car, there are several antiques inside number 205 that can fetch several thousand dollars on BlackBay. As the house features a perimeter wall, players should also make sure to open its car gate before trying to leave.

How to steal the Vulcan Spectre

Thief Simulator Vulcan Spectre at 205 Richie Rich Street

205 Richie Rich street has players contending with 24-hour security and security cameras both inside and outside. That's not all - once players are inside the house, they'll need to get fairly close to its main resident to unlock the car, and open the main gate to get the car out safely. The tools and their corresponding skills listed below are necessary to getting in and out without being seen.

  • Binoculars (Appraisal level 3 - technically optional)
  • Climbing gloves (Agility level 2)
  • Glass knife (Lockpicking level 4)
  • Car key signal cloner (Car theft level 3)

Unlike other car heists, players need to visit the house while its owner is still inside. This is best done at 5 p.m when the constantly present security guard is far away from the garage, and when there's time to prepare before the main resident comes downstairs. Players must mark the security guard - easiest to do with binoculars - before entering to know where the main resident is.

  1. Approach the house from behind, and climb the vines near the garage.
  2. Use the glass knife on the nearby window, and climb inside the bedroom.
  3. Be extremely careful exiting this room. Mark the security camera overhead.
  4. Squeeze left past the camera's line of sight into a huge room.
  5. Use the switch next to the piano to open the car gate.
  6. Enter the garage left of the piano and open the garage door.
  7. After 6 p.m, the main resident will enter the nearby bathroom.
  8. From the other side of the wall, left-click him with the car key signal cloner in hand.
  9. Get in the Vulcan Spectre and drive out of the map. The trophy / achievement will unlock.
    • Avoid the security camera on the left side of the driveway!

Players can also access the home via the second floor; with the agility skill at level four, a gutter can be climbed onto an unlocked balcony that places players above the garage. This option is recommended for nighttime burglaries, as windows are blocked when it gets late in-game.

After successfully stealing the Vulcan Spectre, players can disassemble and sell its parts - the mini-game for doing so is slightly different to previous cars', as this is a more advanced vehicle with more expensive parts. Before players get too jealous, it's worth noting that they can get a better vehicle of their own at level 19 - a spacious van can be bought from outside the pawn shop for $35,000.

Thief Simulator is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
