Finesse is an important part of the heists in Thief Simulator. The ever-looming threat of police intervention and surprisingly effective security guards will keep players on their toes, with a harsh checkpoint system making players curse the inventors of the stun gun every time they're sent to the 'load game' screen.
While players will likely be familiar with the process of stealing vehicles in Thief Simulator by now, the Kubra GTS - a car that can be sold for $1500 - presents the greatest challenge yet. The simple days of opening a garage and immediately being on the main road with the Bolthorn 86 Classic are gone; the security of Greenview Street looks laughable compared to the Fort Knox-esque homes of Richie Rich Street. If players are successful in this Kubra GTS heist, however, their rewards include plenty of cash and two rare achievements.
Where is the Kubra GTS?
Locked down tight within the garage on house 207's left side, attempting to steal the Kubra GTS will have players wishing they had a heisting team to help them out. Thankfully, the house doesn't have alarmed windows, but two security guards and a myriad of security cameras both inside and out will make navigating the residence a challenge.
Preparation is the most important part of this heist, as the plan below can be completed quickly once inside. Like the Vulcan Spectre before it, players must enter the home while the main resident is inside and ensure both the car gate and garage door are open before trying to leave. This house will also require the player to have purchased the van that becomes available at level 19; it is found outside the pawn shop and purchased for $35,000.
How to Steal the Kubra GTS Undetected
The owner of 207 Richie Rich Street doesn't mess around. Two 24-hour security guards patrol at all times, and the owner herself moves around unpredictably - players should mark the security guards and cameras before entering to know where they're allowed to move. The tools and skills listed below are required for an undetected heist.
- Car key signal cloner (Car theft level 3)
- Climbing gloves (Agility level 4)
- Hacking PDA (Electronics level 2)
Like the other 'smart car' heist, players must break in while the main resident is still inside the house. This is best done bright and early at 6 a.m. When one security guard is behind the house and the other aimlessly walks around the downstairs hall. It should also be noted that if the player is detected while inside the car, they can still somehow be stunned and sent back to a checkpoint. Once inside, players should avoid getting cocky and focus on getting out as soon as possible. Following the steps below will allow players to escape with the Kubra GTS without being detected:
-
Park the van at the back of the house, with its back against the hedge.
- Be careful not to block the path, or the police will arrive.
- Climb on top of the van and walk along the hedges until the balcony is reached.
- Climb the gutter up to the balcony and enter the house.
-
Use the car key signal cloner on the owner through the wall.
- If she's too far away, open the window onto the other balcony and reach her there.
- Move across the upstairs to find and disable the camera panel.
- Sneak past the guard downstairs into the garage on the right side, closing the door quietly
- Use the garage door switch and car gate switch on the right to remove both obstacles
- Drive out of the area - the trophy / achievement will then unlock.
As players leave the area, assuming this is the fifth unique car they stole, they will also unlock the 'Crazy about Cars' trophy / achievement. Like other cars in the game, the Kubra GTS' individual pieces can be taken and re-sold at the junkyard or online for a significant payday, one that players can use to customize their van with new paint jobs at the junkyard.
Thief Simulator is available now on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
