The list of things that can be stolen in Thief Simulator is a long one, and some things are easier to stuff into a pocket than others. Early in the game, players may be content to steal kitchen appliances and decorations, but as their tools get more expensive their ambitions must grow to keep up.
This leads players to a new, rich neighborhood - the appropriately named 'Richie Rich Street'. Their kitchen appliances are fancier, their security is more secure, and it seems every resident keeps a stun-gun under their pillow. Achievement hunters must brave the well-guarded homes if they want to unlock the 'Car Enthusiast 3' trophy / achievement, though, a reward for stealing the Bolthorn Family MkV vehicle which sells for $2000.
Where is the Bolthorn Family MkV?
Like the houses on Greenview Street, the oversized homes of Richie Rich Street are often accompanied by a garage. Thankfully, the game's story gives players a clue as to the location of the Bolthorn Family MkV - and better yet, it's one of the less stronghold-like houses on the street. Players should set their sights on house 201, with its garage on the far-right side and two cameras covering the area around the front door.
It's important to prepare thoroughly for this vehicle heist. Players are encouraged to mark the security cameras to make their vision cones visible and to open both the garage door and outside gate before trying to drive away. It's possible to create a new checkpoint by sleeping in a car for at least an hour, however, which may prove useful if the police are alerted.
How to steal the Bolthorn MkV
201 Richie Rich Street has a strong security system, but it can be made trivial if players are quick with the right tools and skills, listed below.
- Mini electric lock pick (Lockpicking level 3)
- Glass knife (Lockpicking level 4)
- Car lock pick gun (Car stealing level 1)
After filling their inventory with the tools they need, players should start the heist when the Reeds are away, and the house is empty - 7 p.m. Cameras will still be active, so players should mark them to make their search radius visible and avoidable. Below, a strategy to steal the car without being detected has been shared.
- Use the electric lock pick on the home's front gate.
- Navigate around the cameras and use the glass knife on the window left of the front door.
- Enter, then turn around and use the car gate switch next to the window
- Enter the garage on the house's right side and open it via the switch on the right
- Crouch in front of the car to disable its alarm
- Unlock the car with a car lock pick gun and hotwire it
- Drive out of the map - the trophy / achievement will then unlock.
As always, this isn't the only way to break in - the front door can be accessed if players bring a Hacking PDA, and the fence can be jumped over if players climb on top of their van. The house also has plenty of expensive electronics worth stealing, so speedy thieves will find this is a great house to steal from.
Beyond selling the car as a whole, Thief Simulator allows players to pull apart the wheels, suspension, and engine at their home base to be sold piece-by-piece at the junkyard. Some bundles can sell for thousands on BlackBay, making this a very lucrative way to make money.
Thief Simulator is available now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
