Nintendo's Indie Showcase events are always full of surprises. Not only are there new game announcements, but also surprise releases. Wednesday morning's showcase was no different, as the popular adventure-puzzle game There is No Game: Wrong Dimension was confirmed for Nintendo Switch.

Originally released in August 2020, There is No Game: Wrong Dimension a special type of puzzle game that's rare in the modern gaming industry. Players will see mini-games inspired by the likes of Breakout, Day of the Tentacle, The Legend of Zelda, and much more. Plus, all of them will be wrapped together in a meta-story about being trapped in different gaming dimensions. There is No Game: Wrong Dimension is both a curiosity and an experience unlike much else on the market.

The history of There is No Game: Wrong Dimension is interesting, too. Developer Draw Me A Pixel's founder, Pascal Cammisotto, released the original There is No Game in 2015, winning a Newgrounds game jam in the process. Cammisotto thought he could take the 15-minute game and build something bigger and better, so he launched a Kickstarter to fund development in 2016. It unfortunately failed, likely due to a lack of visibility. Camissotto continued to work on the game, however, and the result is There is No Game: Wrong Dimension.

There is No Game: Wrong Dimension launched in August 2020 to very positive reviews, and again on mobile devices in December 2020. However, it's still struggling to reach a larger audience. The Nintendo Switch release and today's Indie Showcase reveal may correct that issue, should Switch users decide to give There is No Game: Wrong Dimension a chance.

There is No Game: Wrong Dimension is available now on PC, Switch, and iOS/Android devices.
