A The Way of the Househusband themed guidebook is set to be published towards the end of next month. The new guidebook will contain 25 recipes, as well as various housekeeping tips and tricks from the anime and manga series, including a how-to guide on clearing out your home in preparation for the summer.
The Way of the Househusband: Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping, written by Victoria Rosental and Laurie Ulster, is set for publishing on July 25.
The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping is written by multifaceted writer and producer Laurie Ulster (who also co-authored the upcoming Brooklyn 99 guidebook), with recipes by Victoria Rosental, author of various recipe books built around recreating the dishes found in videogrames, such as the God of War: The Official Cookbook of the Nine Realms. In addition to the recipes and life hacks contained in the upcoming guidebook, The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping will contain exclusive art by series author Keisuke Oono.
The Way of the Househusband series follows a former yakuza known to those in the same trade as "The Immortal Tatsu", aptly named for his fierceness and ability to clear out rival factions on his own, after he decides to retire from a life of crime and become a full-time homemaker to support his working wife, Miku.
The manga was first published as a limited series on the Shinchosha's online manga magazine Kurage Bunch from February to March 2018, but its popularity earned it a full-time serialization starting in May that year. The Way of the Househusband manga series' 12th volume is set for collection in July this year, with VIZ Media publishing the series in English from September 2019.
The English-translated tenth volume of The Way of the Househusband manga is expected to drop in August. The Way of the Househusband has seen adaptation into various media, with the anime series being announced as an Original Net Animation at the Netflix Anime Festival in October 2020. The anime produced by J.C. Staff was released in April 2021, with direction from Chiaki Kon (Director, Back Street Girls) and Kenjiro Tsuda (Mikoto Suoh, K-Project) playing Tatsu. The Gangster's Guide to Housekeeping is set for publishing on July 25.
