It's fair to say that the vast majority of fans of AMC's The Walking Dead were devastated at the death of Glenn in season 6, episode 9, titled "Heads Up" at the hands of Negan and his beloved, bloodthirsty bat Lucille. Glenn was one of the main reasons many fans tuned into the post-apocalyptic series due to his reliability, resourcefulness, and his unwillingness to be corrupted by the zombie-infested world where so many fell at the first hurdle. Now, in a bid to continue the character's legacy, one star from its spin-off, The Walking Dead: Dead City, has pitched an idea to bring the popular character back from the dead into the show.
Although The Walking Dead ended in 2022 after 11 seasons, loyal fans of the series didn't have to wave goodbye to their favorite characters like Negan and Maggie for too long. The Walking Dead: Dead City revolves around the story of Maggie and Negan as they journey through zombie-infested Manhattan to rescue Maggie's son, Hershel, from The Croat. Of course, this being The Walking Dead, the infected aren't the only thing that the pair have to deal with, as gangs and dangerous humans fill the city's every corner. In the show's first outing in season one, viewers saw Negan being hunted by a lawman called Armstrong, as well as encountering a group of savage survivors called The Burazi . However, it's clear that Maggie still grieves for Glenn, as well as Hershel never getting to meet his father, so even though bringing Glenn back again would be a big challenge, it's still a workable concept, according to Logan Kim.

The Walking Dead: Dead City’s Logan Kim Has an Idea on How Glenn Could Return to the Spin-off
According to ScreenRant, in which Logan Kim spoke to the outlet, the actor who plays Glenn's son Hershel in Dead City pitched an idea about how the beloved original TWD character could return to the spin-off. Kim suggested that Glenn could make a return in future episodes of Dead City in either a flashback or as a ghost. Given that Hershel has never met his father, as he was convinced before Glenn's tragic death, it certainly would be a bittersweet reunion, and for fans, also.
"Well, we could see maybe a flashback of Glenn, or maybe bring on the ghost of Glenn! Something like that would be cool. I don't know. Hershel's never really seen him, so I don't know if he'd actually know what his dad looks like in that moment."
Although it seems as though bringing Steven Yeun’s character back from the dead again in some context might prove difficult since the actor has a pretty stacked schedule due to voicing Mark Grayson in Invincible and starring in the Netflix crime thriller RIP later this year, it's not impossible. If the spin-off did show a short flashback of Glenn, it wouldn't take up too much of the actor's time, and the impact of his appearance may bring some kind of closure to Maggie's life, as she's been haunted by his death ever since it happened. It would also be an undeniably emotional scene for fans too, who were devastated at Glenn's death, with some even switching off from the series to never return again.
