In The Sims 4, gamers who play with fairy Sims will have to keep their Emotional Force Needs in check. Otherwise, they will die of Emotional Starvation. However, it is possible for them to also die of Emotional Overload if players aren't careful.
How to Cheat Needs in The Sims 4
Taking care of your Sims doesn't have to feel like a chore - make it simple with these accessible cheats for The Sims 4.
This guide will tell players about the dangers that come when fairy Sims consume emotions that are too powerful in The Sims 4 Enchanted by Nature. Thankfully, if gamers take the right precautions, they can easily avoid this death.
How to Avoid Emotional Overload in The Sims 4
Fairy Sims need to replenish their Emotional Force in order to avoid Emotional Starvation in The Sims 4. There are various way to regenerate the Emotional Force Needs meter, but the most practical one is to absorb the emotion of other Sims. However, if Sims absorb too many powerful emotions, their fairy Sim will suffer an overload and die as a consequence. Therefore, before absorbing a Sim's emotions, gamers should consider detecting nearby emotions first.
In these scenarios, it's better to be safe than sorry, and if gamers want to ensure the safety of their fairy Sims, they should verify if they plan on absorbing the emotions of someone who is relatively mindful. To check if a Sim doesn't have overly powerful emotions that shouldn't be absorbed, the player must select their Sim (or another Sim) near an area with other Sims, enter the Fairy menu, and select Detect Emotions.
When detecting emotions, a smiley will appear next to eligible Sims, expressing their current mood. If the emotions are too powerful, a Danger sign will appear next to the smiley face.
The Stages of Emotional Overload in The Sims 4
If players absorb powerful emotions five times within a short period of time, they will die of Emotional Overload. Here are the moodlets that they will receive before this happens:
- Impeding Overload (Tense +2)
- Minor Hysterical Overload (Playful +3)
- Major Hysterical Overload (Playful +8)
- Critical Hysterical Overload (Playful +15)
- Death by Laughter (caused by Emotional Overload)
The final stages of hysterical overload last 12 hours, so if gamers want to avoid an Emotional Overload death in The Sims 4, they need to make sure that they don't absorb emotions that are too powerful during the hours that the moodlet is live.
