Electronic Arts has recently revealed a new The Sims 4 expansion pack called “Businesses and Hobbies,” which was already rumored to be in the works. The new The Sims 4 expansion pack will focus on giving players more mechanics to interact with hobbies and businesses in the popular simulation game.

The Sims 4: Businesses and Hobbies was first leaked back in January. The reveal of the game’s 18th official expansion pack was already eagerly awaited by fans, and a prominent dataminer originally uncovered the content. At the time, not enough information was available about it, though.

Now, EA has announced The Sims 4: Businesses and Hobbies with a short trailer, revealing the first details about the meaty expansion, which will be released on March 6 and cost $40. The expansion features the new city of Nordhaven, and it comes with two new skills: Tattooing and Pottery. With these new hobbies, players can create tattoos on their sims or decorations using a Pottery Wheel. Sims will be able to meet with other characters passionate about the same types of art and build up their skills, too, by hosting Classes and Lectures, which may help them earn Mastery Perks. The expansion will also add the ability for players to create small businesses using the new Ticket Kiosk and learning new Business Perks as they go.

EA Reveals New The Sims 4: Businesses & Hobbies Expansion Pack

  • The new Sims 4 expansion will be released on March 6.
  • Two new hobbies to pursue: Tattooing and Pottery.
  • New small businesses will be available depending on other expansions.
  • New city: Nordhaven.

By owning some previous The Sims 4 expansions, gamers can open up all kinds of new businesses. With “Cats and Dogs,” for example, they can open pet cafes, while “City Living” gives players the opportunity to start a karaoke bar, and owning the “Laundry Day” expansion pack allows for a laundromat.

The new expansion is just part of the roadmap for The Sims 4 in early 2025, though. Businesses and Hobbies will get an early gameplay deep dive on February 18, which will likely explain the mechanics in more depth. On May 1, The Sims 4 players will gain access to three new kits: Restoration Workshop, Golden Years, and Kitchen Clutter, which will be priced at $5 each.

Also, The Sims 4 fans can await a mysterious surprise on February 25, which was recently teased by the developers. In any case, it seems that the 25th anniversary of the franchise is packed with excellent content, with the current Motherlode season running from February 6 to May 25, and a high probability of another expansion pack coming out in the second half of the year.
