10 Gizmo from Gremlins

Created by Jazmilia

  • Expansions Required: Cats & Dogs

Though not exactly a spooky Sim, the gremlin Gizmo comes from the comedy horror series Gremlins. Despite his adorableness, he’s still a character that qualifies for this list. This kitten recreation of Gizmo from Jazmilia is painfully cute, but it is also an excellent remake of the character in general.

The large green eyes and big ears are perfectly Gizmo, as is the brown and white color pattern of his coat. For those who want a fun, Halloween-themed pet in their Sims game who is particularly cute and cuddly, this Gizmo Sim is the perfect choice.

9 Slenderman

Created by plushyghost

  • Game Packs Required: Vampires
  • Stuff Packs Required: Vintage Glamour

One of the creepiest scary characters created in the last few decades is the faceless Slenderman. The character received a surge in popularity when an online game featuring him as the creepy antagonist was released in 2012. He has since had various games and other media inspired by him.

For those who want to add a bit of Slenderman creepiness to their Sims 4 game, this recreation by plushyghost is the perfect choice. The Sim uses a mannequin base to replicate that ominous, no-faced look. It's also wearing a suit, much like the character does. This Slenderman Sim is sure to spook out players if they see it wandering around in their Sims game.

8 Halloween Teens

Created by M1ss-B-Haven

  • Expansion Packs Required: Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living and Get To Work
  • Game Packs Required: Dine Out, Spa Day, and Outdoor Retreat
  • Stuff Packs Required: Romantic Garden, Movie Hangout and Perfect Patio

These next Sims from Simmer M1ss-B-Haven aren’t based on any particular characters, but they are a great choice for those who want to set up some teenage Halloween drama in their game.

The household is made up of four Sims, two boys and two girls. Each of them dons a particular outfit intended to look like a Halloween costume. Players can use the characters to role-play a teenage Halloween party, complete with murderous twists and turns if they so choose.

The costumes are well-chosen and the teens themselves have their own names and personalities, so there is a lot to enjoy with this Halloween-themed household.

7 Emily from Corpse Bride

Created by trropico

  • Expansions Required: High School Years, Discover University, Get Famous and Get To Work
  • Game Packs Required: Werewolves

The first of a few Tim Burton movie entries on this list is Emily from the stop-motion animation film Corpse Bride. The Corpse Bride herself has a distinctive look in the movie, what with being a walking corpse and all. She has blue skin and various stitches to make it look like she has been sewn back together. Despite this corpse-like nature, Emily still retains her beauty from when she was alive.

The characters from Corpse Bride have a very unique design, so it can be difficult to get them to look right in Sim form without them becoming too creepy. Simmer trropico perfectly replicates Emily’s stop-motion design without her Sim either becoming too bizarre or too plain. This Emily is a great choice for Corpse Bride fans who want to give Emily the romance story that she deserves.

6 Beetlejuice and Lydia Deetz

Created by jenjgolem

  • Game Packs Required: Discover University, Island Living, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, Get Together and Get To Work
  • Game Packs Required: Realm of Magic, Vampires and Spa Day
  • Stuff Packs Required: Vintage Glamour and Movie Hangout

The cult classic film Beetlejuice- and its recent, well-received sequel - is a favorite for many to indulge in during the Halloween season. This Sim household allows Beetlejuice fans to go a step further by adding Beetlejuice and the protagonist of the films - Lydia Deetz - to their Sims games.

Both Lydia and Beetlejuice have been recreated excellently here by Simmer jenjgolem. Lydia is particularly impressive, as she looks just like the actress who plays her in the films (Winona Ryder). The black hat and long black dress that the Lydia Sim dons are also incredibly accurate to her character, who is also known as “goth girl” in the movies.

Beetlejuice himself is also looking good, especially the interesting split between his normal Sim form and his vampire Sim form. The paleness of his skin and the protruding veins make him feel true to his character, as does the suit he wears. This household is a must for Beetlejuice fans looking to add some dark fantasy to their Sims game this spooky season.

5 Halloween Cat

Created by Pugowned

  • Expansion Packs Required: Cats & Dogs

Next is a simple yet impressive cat Sim created by Pugowned. This cat is a must for those looking for a unique, spooky feline to add to a Sims household.

The cat - known only as Halloween Cat - has been given a particularly spooky design thanks to the ability to paint freely on pets in the create-a-pet system in The Sims 4. Pugowned has painted a skull design onto the cat's head as well as various bones in different places to make it look like some of the cat’s bones are on the outside.

It’s fantastically done, making for a pet that looks like it’s halfway between life and death. The cat also has a design that is reminiscent of the skull motifs popular around Cinco de Mayo in Mexico, offering an extra spooky, spirit-like vibe.

4 Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, Foxy, The Cupcake, The Puppet, Mangle, and Springtrap from the Five Nights At Freddy's series

Created by MissKowaidesu

  • Expansion Packs Required: Cats & Dogs

One of the most popular video game series of the last decade is Five Nights At Freddy's, which is known for its memorable, animatronic characters and shameless jump scares. The animatronics in question have become iconic characters in gaming, and they have been remade here by Simmer MissKowaidesu in The Sims 4 in animal form.

The aforementioned create-a-pet system in The Sims 4 has been utilized excellently to bring the Five Nights At Freddy’s animatronics to life as dogs and cats. MissKowaidesu has perfectly crafted the intricate designs of the characters, right down to the seams where their mechanical body parts attach.

The patterns, colors, and design elements of each character have also been recreated perfectly, such as Chica’s Let's Eat bib, the Puppet’s mask, and Springtrap’s creepy patches of flesh.

Although these FNAF Sims are all made by the same Simmer, some of them are separate households. Players can download them here: Freddy, Chica, Bonny, Foxy and Cupcake, the Puppet, Mangle, and Springtrap.

3 The Addams Family

Created by Els757

  • Expansion Packs Required: High School Years, Cottage Living, Snowy Escape, Eco Living, Discover University, Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, Get Together, and Get To Work.
  • Game Packs Required: Werewolves, My Wedding Stories, Realm of Magic, Parenthood, Vampires, Spa Day, and Outdoor Retreat.
  • Stuff Packs Required: Nifty Knitting, Moschino, Fitness, Vintage Glamour, Backyard, Romantic Garden, Perfect Patio, and Luxury Party.
  • Kits Required: Carnaval Streetwear, Modern Menswear, Incheon Arrivals and Throwback Fit.

The Addams Family are one of the most well-known fictional families in pop culture, thanks to their love of all things macabre. They are an obvious pick for Simmers looking to add some spookiness to their game.

There are a lot of different versions of The Addams Family in The Sims 4 gallery, as well as households that only have a few members. This version of the family by Simmer Els757 makes our list thanks to how accurate they are as a whole. The family members are instantly recognizable, but they also have hints of the actors that have played them in various media too.

The only downside to this household is that it is going to take a lot of packs for those who want to download them in full. For players that have all the necessary add-ons though, this take on The Addams Family makes for a great Halloween Sims treat.

2 Freddy Krueger

Created by JimothySimothy

  • Expansion Packs Required: Get To Work
  • Game Packs Required: Vampires

Freddy Krueger is arguably one of the most famous horror movie antagonists ever created. He’s right up there with Jason Voorhees, Ghostface, and Michael Myers. For players looking to add this murderous dream stalker to their game, this is a fantastic choice.

Created by Simmer JimothySimothy, this take on Kruger is particularly impressive thanks to the distinctive facial markings designed to look like the severe burns that the character has. The facial features and outfit are also spot on, especially his infamous striped sweater.

Pair this Sim with some other famous movie murderers and start terrorizing the other Sims in the neighborhood this spooky season.

1 Jack Skellington, Sally, and Zero

Created by AmbrosiaPeach

  • Expansion Packs Required: Get Famous, Seasons, Cats & Dogs, City Living, and Get To Work
  • Game Packs Required: Vampires, Spa Day, and Outdoor Retreat
  • Stuff Packs Required: Fitness, Vintage Glamour, Spooky, Cool Kitchen, Luxury Party and the free Holiday Celebration pack

Last but not least is a Sim household that recreates Jack Skellington, Sally, and ghost dog Zero from Tim Burton’s iconic Disney movie The Nightmare Before Christmas. As is the case with the Emily Sim mentioned earlier, the characters in The Nightmare Before Christmas have a unique design. This can make the Sims based on those characters look a little creepy at times. Some Simmers don’t try to emulate the style at all though, which leads to the characters looking like everyday Sims. The trick is to find the right balance, and Simmer AmbrosiaPeach has done just that with these Sims.

The Jack Skellington Sim has skeleton face makeup and a bald head to recreate the character's design. He also wears a suit that is strikingly similar to the one the character wears in the movie. The skinny, bone-like body proportions are also replicated well.

Sally also looks great, as she has her classic blue skin and facial sewing scars that make her look like a stitched-together rag doll. Her dress is also similar to her stitched-together movie attire. Ghostly pooch Zero also looks fantastic and as close to the movie version as it's possible to be. The long, flowing ears are particularly well crafted. The Nightmare Before Christmas fans are sure to love this Sim household, but it’s also a great choice for those who want a spooky addition to their game that doesn’t go too far into scary territory.
