Out of the nine Camp Counselors at Hackett's Quarry Summer Camp, Ryan Erzahler is one of the most played characters in The Quarry. He's a very awkward person who prefers listening to podcasts over his friends' conversations. His life is mostly at risk during the events of the last two chapters, where players' choices determine his fate.

Achieving the Last Man Standing Trophy in The Quarry requires killing every single character, minus the Hacketts, while keeping Ryan alive. Don't be afraid to wait until later in the game to let a character die, as in some cases it may be better to witness the outcome late.

How To Make Ryan Survive The Night Alone And Get The Last Man Standing Achievement In The Quarry

Like any Achievement, players need to pick very specific choices throughout the chapters to earn the Last Man Standing.

Preparations To Make Ryan Survive

While controlling Laura in chapter seven, don’t grab the tranquilizing syringe from the last room on the second floor. Instead, complete the QTE, take Travis’s gun, and SHOOT TRAVIS.

In chapter nine, after being stabbed and running away, DON’T PULL THE KNIFE or else Ryan will die from blood loss. Additionally, the knife can be used later to stab Bobby Hackett, so he doesn’t kill Ryan after the latter shoots Travis.

In a later scene in chapter nine, Ryan is about to die from blood loss, and Laura suggests biting him, thus infecting Ryan, to make sure he survives. ACCEPT Laura’s offer; otherwise, the Sailing Coach dies.

How To Kill Everyone

4	Jacob Emma	When given the choice, pick HELP ABI to force Jacob to run back to the bonfire. There, use Ryan and SHOOT TWICE at the bushes to kill Jacob. After climbing to the treehouse, ignore the bags and OPEN TRAPDOOR. Werewolf Max will leap down and maul Emma to death.
6	Abigail	Before Nick is about to transform, Abigail will grab a shotgun from the floor. NOT SHOOTING results in Abi’s death.
8	Nick	While Laura and Ryan are exploring the underground mine, they’ll eventually end up at a Red Room. LET LAURA SHOOT the werewolf to kill Nick.
9	Laura Dylan	Because Laura shot Travis in chapter seven, Sheriff Hackett will stab her after Ryan shoot Chris Hackett with silver. In the Scrapyard, while operating the crane, choose to WARN KAITLYN and then SOUND HORN to save her. Next, fail the QTE as Dylan to let the werewolf kill him.
10	Max Kaitlyn	To kill Max, make him SWIM TO SHORE. Back at the lodge, after Kaitlyn PREPARE FOR ATTACK, choose WAIT and DON’T SHOOT the werewolf to kill her.

How To Save Ryan

In the final showdown with the Hacketts in chapter nine, Bobby cannot fend off his brother’s werewolf form, which leads to his demise. After that, SHOOT Chris Hackett as Ryan to cure Max, Laura, and himself.

Once the curse is broken, Travis kills Laura and approaches Ryan to snatch the shotgun. Successfully doing the QTE gives players a chance to shoot the Police Officer, thus killing him. Finally, the Last Man Standing Achievement is rewarded at the beginning of the Epilogue.
