Supermassive Games has released The Quarry to be another interactive horror game along the lines of Until Dawn and The Dark Pictures anthology. As with previous chapters, The Quarry hides tarot cards, historical clues, and evidence all throughout this level.

Chapter 9 focuses on Laura and Ryan's survival against the Hackett family. It also contains the most collectibles out of all The Quarry chapters, so it is recommended to make manual backup saves of The Quarry in case players miss any of them.

Inspecting the Hackett House as Ryan

Q9 T1

Chapter 9 has the additional limitation of keeping The Quarry's counselors alive, but there are enough opportunities to grab all the collectibles before any are missed. In total, there are four Tarot cards, four clues, and one evidence opportunity.

After some tense interactions with the Hackett family and their fates left in the player's hands, Ryan will attempt to hide in the house from the big hunter, ending up in a dingy bedroom. Once he is controllable, head to the right side of the bedroom for the Evidence #9 opportunity: Kaylee Hackett's letter.

These are the only two collectibles Ryan can grab, but when he checks the bedroom door, a hiding sequence will begin. Following a Quick-Time event sequence where Ryan attempts to escape, gameplay will soon transition to Laura.

Exploring the Hackett House as Laura

Q9 T2

Unlike the previous section, Laura can start in two separate locations (depending on whether she evaded the Hacketts or not.) Either way, the collectibles are accessible, but if Laura was shot/subdued, it will take a bit longer for her to start collecting the items.

The first clue can be grabbed as soon as Laura ends up in a room with a piano and decorated with blue wallpaper. The Hackett History Clue #15 will be on top of a dresser in front of the stairs, collectable after a quick inspection. Continue upstairs to explore the other rooms.

At the top of the stairs, continue straight ahead and into the office room. Another HH Clue (#16) is hanging on the wall: the Hackett family tree. Head out of the room and move to the adjoining one, but be sure to keep away from the door, or it will automatically trigger a cutscene. Instead, head toward the large windows, and the camera perspective will reveal Tarot Card #19.

The aforementioned cutscene leads to a Quick-Time Event sequence and fight with the Hacketts, but all of Laura's collectibles will have been obtained here. As such, the player can let these events continue as they wish before picking up the action with Dylan and Kaitlyn.

Investigating the Scrapyard as Dylan

q9 T3

When Dylan and Kaitlyn are in the scrapyard, the first step to exploring is finding the shack on the right with a button on a table to open some doors nearby. There is another collectible available inside this area, up the stairs nearby, and along the walkway. On a table at the end is HH Clue #15, in the form of a business ledger.

After Dylan presses the button, walk through the newly opened area into the scrapyard. There are several paths to take, but the quickest way is straight through to the storage container tunnel. On the other side is a staircase that leads up onto a container; up here is Tarot Card #20, which will appear once Dylan walks over to the left of the stairs.

Q9 T4

After Dylan collects this Tarot Card, he can go down the other set of stairs towards the yellow crane. However, DO NOT approach it yet; otherwise, a cutscene sequence will trigger, and the collectibles will be lost.

Instead, head to the left between the two sets of stairs and approach a sign with a green circle. Inspect this to discover the Freakshow Fire Clue #8, the final collectible in Dylan's section of Chapter 9.

Finding the Hierophant Card as Abigail/Emma

Q9 TH

The Hierophant Tarot Card is only available if Abigail and/or Emma are still alive and not infected. If neither are alive, then the lodge basement scene will not appear at the end of Chapter 9.

Once players regain control, head right towards the staircase immediately. Keep walking, and the Hierophant Tarot Card will appear as soon as the camera perspective changes. This card will trigger a cutscene with the tarot-reading old woman tied into The Quarry's lore.

After this last Tarot Card, all Chapter 9 collectibles will have been obtained. There remains only one chapter left, and hopefully, some players will be very close to achieving any desired trophies/achievements previously out of reach.

The Quarry is available on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.
