Reaching Chapter 5 of The Quarry means players are about halfway through Supermassive Games' newest cinematic horror game. It is here where earlier story choices begin to receive a payoff, and it depends on the player how many of The Quarry's cast members will survive through the night.

The thematic items like tarot cards, historical clues, and evidence are still present in Hackett's Quarry. Therefore, players ought to be wary of the traps lying in wait for The Quarry's intrepid and lovable cast.

Setting Up A Future Clue with Kaitlyn

At the start of Chapter 5, Kaitlyn attempts to keep Abigail and Nick safe from the big hunter seeking them. In order to unlock a clue in Chapter 10, she needs to do some counter-intuitive steps for making the discovery. In total, there are two Tarot cards, three clues, and one evidence opportunity.

Kaitlyn will go upstairs and investigate the source of the noise, which will trigger some Quick-Time events. To get the clue opportunity, she needs to succeed in the first QTE but then FAIL the next one. This causes the hunter to find Kaitlyn hiding and throw a bottle at her.

It is vital that Kaitlyn also FAILS the next QTE so that the hunter gets close enough to her in the next prompt. Because of the failed QTE, the hunter picks up a table to see Kaitlyn; at this point, Kaitlyn needs to SHOOT the hunter. This will cause him to drop a collectible, and subsequently spawn the clue in Chapter 10.

This is the only necessary step that can be done in Kaitlyn's section of this chapter, but missing it will require another playthrough to get all the clues. It is recommended to do a manual save of your game if possible.

Discovering Clues with Dylan

Dylan Chapter 5

Dylan and Ryan will take up the majority of Chapter 5 now on their way to the radio hut. Once Dylan is controllable, head to the far left to discover the Hackett History Clue #8: a bear trap. More clues can be found in the lodge vicinity, so head right towards the lodges seen in Chapter 1 by Abigail and Emma.

Head towards the big tree; there will be lots of lodges surrounding it. Head to the lodge on the right, marked 03, and there will be a piece of paper holding Clue #8. Following this, turn and walk towards the tables by the tree to grab Tarot Card #8.

Once those two lodge collectibles have been grabbed, Dylan and Ryan can put their plan into action by heading past the lodges towards the radio hut. Do not go inside the radio hut, or it will trigger a cutscene, leaving the two collectibles lost. Instead, head to the left of the stairs and inspect the fan to unlock Evidence #5.

There is one more collectible left: Tarot Card #9. Make sure to stay outside the hut, slowly walking around the left of the building and waiting for the camera perspective to switch. When the tarot card is revealed, press the command button, and it will be picked up automatically.

There are no more collectibles to get in this chapter after grabbing the Tarot card, but the challenge is far from over. Dylan's fate depends on the player's choices from here on out, and the other camp counselors still have a long night ahead.
